Race 4 – Warwick 12:55am
4. Paddy’s Field: Appeals as the type to make a better chaser than hurdler and was in the process of running well on his debut over fences at Sedgefield last month before losing all momentum at the second last with a chance-ending mistake.
He would probably have been involved in the finish with a clear round, and is well worth another chance now eased 2 lbs in the weights and with first-time cheekpieces likely to help him concentrate better at his obstacles.
Brandon Hill is on a good mark based on his hurdling form and is worth keeping an eye on on his second start back from a long break.

Race 5 – Taunton 1:40am
3. Winning Spark: Has a good record at this track, with both of his wins to date coming over C&D, and after running as well as ever at Wincanton last time on his return (bumped into one that was well ahead of its mark) he looks worth chancing.
Newsworthy is now on his third yard but looks well treated on the pick of his novice form from this sort of mark, so could also be one to watch out for on his first start for the in-form Neil Mulholland.

Race 1 – Chelmsford City 3:20am
10. How’s Lucy: A 3 lb rise in the weights for How’s Lucy’s second here last time over a mile looks workable given that she was ridden too aggressively that day. The drop back in trip looks set to suit and she can get off the mark under a more restrained ride from Danny Brock.
Gentlemen Giles is well-bred and hails from a bang in-form yard, so could prove one of the chief threats to the selection on just his second handicap start.
