Weatherbys Maiden Stakes

Betting Forecast

7.5 Dubai Hero, 7.9 Khalidi, 11.8 d’Bai, 12.2 Hyde Park, 14.7 Evergate, 15.1 Fujaira Bridge, 16.8 Mr Tyrrell, 26 Gilgamesh, 28.5 bar

Analyst’s Verdict

D’bai has comfortably the most eye-catching pedigree in this field as a full brother to Dubawi Gold and there’s reason to think he can hit the ground running for a trainer who does particularly well with first-time-out juveniles. Fujaira Bridge appeals as another interesting newcomer, while Hyde Park is the pick of those with experience.

Race 2 John Banks Infiniti Cambridge Handicap (3) 1m 11:40pm

Betting Forecast

5.8 Blair House, 6 Weld Al Emarat, 9.8 Clear Water, 15.1 Ifwecan, 16.4 Fawaareq, 17.3 Column, 17.4 Mediciman, 18 Archie, 20 bar

Analyst’s Verdict

Godolphin hold a strong hand with their lightly-raced 3-y-os Blair House and Clear Water, the former marginally preferred having looked unlucky on his handicap debut at Musselburgh last month. Weld Al Emarat and Ifwecan have both made promising starts for their new yards and they complete the shortlist.

Race 3 Price Bailey EBF Stallions Fillies’ Handicap (2) 7f 12:10am

Betting Forecast

6.1 Aristocratic, 9.8 Mise En Rose, 11.5 Permission, 12 Sainted, 13.7 Eternally, 14.4 Al Shahaniya, 19.6 Aljuljalah, 23 Quality Time, 26 bar

Analyst’s Verdict

Plenty of progressive fillies but Aristocratic makes the most appeal from a handicapping perspective having been beaten only by subsequent Sandringham-winner Persuasive off a mark of 77 at Goodwood last time. Sainted and Eternally are in the same ownership as the selection and have appealing profiles too, while Permission is a must for the shortlist after her impressive debut win here.

Race 4 Duchess of Cambridge Stakes (Sponsored by Imagine Cruising) (Group 2) (1) 12:45am

Timeform Rating of previous winners: 121 119 125 113 121 (Avg 120)

Betting Forecast

3.8 Bletchley, 4.6 Nasimi, 6.4 Asidious Alexander, 6.4 Roly Poly, 7 Seafront, 12.1 Nations Alexander, 12.2 Kilmah, 13.5 Soul Silver, 17 bar

Analyst’s Verdict

The best form on offer is definitely Bletchley’s runner-up effort in the Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot 3 weeks ago and she’s the one to beat if over those exertions. A number of her rivals are also open to improvement, notably Nasimi and Asidious Alexander, who both had plenty in hand when scoring on their debut.

Race 5 Tattersalls 250th Year Falmouth Stakes (Group 1) (1) 1m 1:15am

Timeform Rating of previous winners: 126 128 130 128 125 (Avg 127)

Betting Forecast

1.68 Usherette, 7.6 Alice Springs, 8 Amazing Maria, 11 Always Smile, 18 Very Special, 34 Ashadihan, 36 Irish Rookie

Analyst’s Verdict

Andre Fabre can record an overdue win in this with Usherette, who was an emphatic winner of the Duke of Cambridge at Royal Ascot last month. Always Smile was left with too much to do behind the selection when third in that race and should finish a bit closer this time, while Alice Springs was another who wasn’t seen to best effect at the Royal Meeting and has to be feared in receipt of weight.

Race 6 Bet365 Handicap (2) 1¼m 1:45am

Betting Forecast

6.1 Autocratic, 7.4 High Grounds, 9.8 Banksea, 11.7 Cartago, 13.1 Euchen Glen, 13.4 Vivre Pour Vivre, 15 Wild Hacked, 17 Midhmaar, 18 bar

Analyst’s Verdict

High Grounds was surrounded by subsequent winners when left with too much to do in a strong Epsom handicap on Derby Day and tops the shortlist. Banksea very much appeals as the sort who’ll progress for a while and is another to consider, along with hat-trick seeking Euchen Glen, who had plenty in hand at Ayr 3 weeks ago despite what the winning margin suggests.

Race 7 Pegasus Group Town & Country Planning Handicap (Silver Bunbury Cup) (2) 7f 2:20am

Top Rated & Flags

Betting Forecast

5.8 Librisa Breeze, 9.8 Can’t Change It, 11.9 Muir Lodge, 12 Swift Approval, 12.2 Plucky Dip, 13 Hold Tight, 13.3 Jack’s Revenge, 13.4 Withernsea, 14 bar

Analyst’s Verdict

The manner in which Librisa Breeze quickened from the back of the field to the front in the Hunt Cup marks him down as well handicapped and he can go one better here with the drop to 7f not expected to pose him any problem. Hold Tight looked a shade unlucky at Newcastle and is still on the upgrade, while Certificate travelled powerfully in the same race and should be sharper with that behind him.
