R1 Qatar Stewards’ Sprint Stakes (Handicap) (2) 11:00pm

Top Rated & Flags

Betting Forecast

$8 Projection, $15 Gamesome, $17 Dougan, Seeking Magic, $19 Misterioso, Ballymore Castle, $21 Hoof It, Grandad’s World, Shamshon, Mukaynis, $23 Iseemist, Nuno Tristan, Soie d’Leau, $26 Fast Track, Lightning Charlie, Related, $34 Muir Lodge, 40 bar

Analyst’s Verdict

Sole 3-y-o Projection is taken to land a typically competitive renewal. Twice a winner last term, he showed improved form when fourth on his return at Newmarket and would have finished closer but for meeting traffic problems, so further progress is anticipated. There are any number of dangers with Misterioso, Gamesome and Seeking Magic feared the most.

Race 2 Qatar Handicap (2) 1½m 11:35pm

Top Rated & Flags

Betting Forecast

$7.5 Move Up, $10 Dal Harraild, Shabbah, $11 Shraaoh, $13 Wall of Fire, $15 Emperor Napoleon, Jaameh, $17 Knights Table, Soldier In Action, $19 Gold Faith, $21 Regal Monarch, $23 White Shaheen, $26 Paris Protocol, $34 Danehill Kodiac, Master Blueyes, Beaverbrook

Analyst’s Verdict

Sir Michael Stoute has won this 3 times since 2007 and Shraaoh looks the pick of his pair. It’s easy to put a line through his effort at Royal Ascot and it could be significant that he was gambled on that day. Move Up and Dal Harraild make the shortlist, while Mark Johnston is another trainer who has an excellent record in this.

Race 3 Qatar Nassau Stakes Group 1 (1) 1m1f192y 12:10am

Timeform Rating of previous winners: 129 129 127 125 127 (Avg 127)

Top Rated & Flags

Betting Forecast

$1.36 Minding, $10 Swiss Range, $15 Beautiful Romance, Jemayel, $17 Queen’s Trust

Analyst’s Verdict

Impossible to oppose Minding who is shaping up to be an outstanding filly and can land a sixth Group 1 success and complete an excellent week for the Coolmore team. John Gosden has an excellent recent record in this race and his Swiss Range, who faded late on over 10.5f in the French Oaks, will be suited by this slightly shorter trip and is selected to fill the forecast spot.

Race 4 Qatar Stewards’ Cup (Heritage Handicap) (2) 6f 12:45am

Top Rated & Flags

Betting Forecast

$6.5 Orion’s Bow, $8.5 Dancing Star, $13 Toofi, $15 Kimberella, $19 Growl, $23 Ridge Ranger, Alben Star, $26 Raucous, $29 Spring Loaded, Sir Robert Cheval, Hold Tight, Red Pike, $34 Poyle Vinnie, Hoofalong, Baccarat, G Force, $41 bar

Analyst’s Verdict

Orion’s Bow is progressing so quickly that he’s taken to make light of a penalty and complete a 6-timer. Last year’s runner-up Toofi has caught the eye on both starts for new handler Robert Cowell and rates a big threat, while Dancing Star is attempting to emulate last year’s winner Magical Memory, who landed the valuable 3-y-o handicap at the July meeting before seeing off his elders in this.

Race 5 Qatar EBF Stallions Maiden Stakes (2) 7f 1:20am

Timeform Rating of previous winners: 101 98 102 107 101 (Avg 102)

Top Rated & Flags

Betting Forecast

$2.25 Lockheed, $11 Colibri, Ghayyar, $12 Ray’s The Money, $13 Abiento, $23 Manolito de Madrid, $26 Black Trilby, $29 Syncopation, $34 Herm, Star Stream, Imphal, $51 bar

Analyst’s Verdict

Lockheed looked a good prospect when chasing home a well-regarded Frankel colt at Ascot 3 weeks ago and should prove hard to beat. Well-connected-newcomers Ghayyar and Colibri may emerge as the biggest threats.

Race 6 Qatar Stakes (Handicap) (2) 7f 1:55am

Top Rated & Flags

Betting Forecast

$9 Mamillius, $10 Estidraak, Hornsby, $12 Reputation, George William, $13 Venturous, Stamp Hill, Hawatif, $19 Calder Prince, $21 Monteverdi, Bobby Wheeler, $26 Whitman, Red Artist, $29 Tigerwolf, Palawan, Medburn Dream

Analyst’s Verdict

Mamillius did his bit for the form of the Newbury maiden in May in which he finished mid-field when a decisive scorer at Salisbury in June, and given that race has worked out quite well too and the fact this is just his fourth outing, he could be the one to be with on handicap debut. Venturous and Reputation have both caught the eye on more than one occasion, so head the dangers.

Race 8 Qatar Apprentice Stakes (Handicap) (3) 1m1f 3:00am

Top Rated & Flags

Betting Forecast

$7.5 Heisman, $10 Mr Quicksilver, 12 Craftsmanship, $13 Bathos, Bold Prediction, $15 Eurystheus, Open The Red, $17 Fiftyshadesfreed, $19 Freight Train, Van Huysen, $21 Bridge of Sighs, $23 Holiday Magic, Pactolus, $34 Aqua Ardens, Illusive, Berkeley Vale, $41 bar

Analyst’s Verdict

Heisman seemed to have a bit up his sleeve at Yarmouth last time and has more improvement to come for his new yard, so he’s a confident selection in a competitive-looking handicap. Open The Red is worth a mention given he was successful at this track on reappearance last year, and a return to form from Bathos would be no great surprise.
