Betting Forecast

$1.8 Defi du Seuil, $3.75 Domperignon du Lys, $7.5 Coeur de Lion, $21 Candy Burg, $34 Nachi Falls

Analyst’s Verdict

Defi du Seuil has made a very promising start over hurdles, winning with plenty in hand on both occasions, and he will continue to take all the beating. Nicky Henderson’s Domperignon du Lys landed the odds in style on hurdling debut last month and looks the obvious danger.

Race 2 Ryman Novices’ Chase (2) 2½m166y 11:45pm

Timeform Rating of previous winners: 164 161 164 161 163 (Avg 163)

Betting Forecast

$2.75 Different Gravey, $4 Whisper, $7 Sizing Tennessee, $7.5 Baron Alco, $13 San Benedeto, $15 Zarib

Analyst’s Verdict

Different Gravey was very smart over hurdles and created a good impression when scoring on return/chase debut at Ascot recently. He looks sure to progress and earns the vote to follow up. Baron Alco and Sizing Tennessee have also shown promise and can play a part, whilst the market may well be the best guide in assessing Whisper.

Race 3 Raymond Mould Handicap Chase (2) 2m62y 12:15am

Betting Forecast

$3.75 Vaniteux, $8 Sizing Platinum, $9.5 Parsnip Pete, $10 Baltimore Rock, Cold March, $13 Un Beau Roman, $15 Keel Haul, $19 De Faoithesdream, $26 Savello, $29 Sew On Target, Eastlake, $34 Owen Na View

Analyst’s Verdict

Sizing Platinum didn’t stay in the Bet Victor here last month, but had the rest beaten off when chasing home Fox Norton on his debut for Colin Tizzard previously, and is fancied to land another prize for his all-conquering yard. Vaniteux may have been a little rusty on his return at Ascot and rates the main danger, whilst Baltimore Rock is also respected now his sights have been lowered.

Race 4 Caspian Caviar Gold Cup Handicap Chase (Grade 3) (1) 2½m166y 12:50am

Top Rated & Flags

Betting Forecast

$8.5 Bouvreuil, $9 Village Vic, $9.5 Aloomomo, $11 Kylemore Lough, $12 Aso, $13 Thomas Brown, Frodon, $15 Buywise, $17 King’s Odyssey, Sizing Codelco, $23 Full Shift, $26 Module, Quite By Chance, $34 Roman Flight, $66 bar

Analyst’s Verdict

Kylemore Lough made a pleasing comeback at Ascot and this Grade 1 winner is fancied to take another step forward with further success in this competitive handicap. Last month’s BetVictor form is well represented, with the runner-up of that race and last year’s winner of this race Village Vic looking to have obvious claims. C&D winner King’s Odyssey is considered at a bigger price along with Aso.

Race 5 Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle (Bristol) (Grade 2) (1) 2m7f213y 1:25am

Timeform Rating of previous winners: 140 148 154 158 154 (Avg 151)

Betting Forecast

$3 Wholestone, $4.33 Anchor Man, $5 No Hassle Hoff, $6.5 West Approach, $15 Impulsive Star, $19 Ami Desbois

Analyst’s Verdict

The Nigel Twiston-Davies trained Wholestone proved himself at this level last time and can put his experience to good use and make it 3 wins from 4 starts this season. Anchor Man and No Hassle Hoff rate nice prospects on the back of impressive wins last month and could be the pair to give him most to do.

Race 6 stanjames.com International Hurdle (Grade 2) (1) 2m179y 2:00am

Timeform Rating of previous winners: 180 180 165 162 171 (Avg 172)

Betting Forecast

$2.375 My Tent Or Yours, $4.33 The New One, $5.5 Mister Miyagi, $8 Old Guard, $21 Court Minstrel, $29 Melodic Rendezvous

Analyst’s Verdict

My Tent Or Yours is perhaps worth forgiving his short-priced defeat on his reappearance and holds strong claims on these terms if back to anywhere near his best. The New One has to concede the selection 8lb but has been successful in this race on 2 previous occasions and may still provide the main threat ahead of Mister Miyagi and last year’s winner Old Guard.

Race 7 OLBG Mares’ Handicap Hurdle (2) 2½m56y 2:35am

Top Rated & Flags

Betting Forecast

$4.5 Midnight Tour, $7.5 Briery Queen, $10 Jessber’s Dream, $13 Debdebdeb, $15 Run Ructions Run, Hannah’s Princess, $17 Morning Herald, Midtech Valentine, Mia’s Storm, $19 Dalmatia, $23 Card Game, Kilronan High, $29 On Demand, 51 bar

Analyst’s Verdict

Midnight Tour created a striking impression when justifying strong support on last month’s debut for Alan King at Hereford, and a subsequent 11 lb rise may actually underestimate her. Briery Queen is a very likeable mare and won on last season’s reappearance, with Debdebdeb completing the shortlist.
