Race 7 – Golden Easter Egg Prelude
#8 Goldengrove Lad
Resuming from a break in this event, he looks well drawn out wide, fresh and ready to go and should benefit from Princess Fox, Trackmaster and Miss Danica all beginning speedily and looking for the fence. He should be able to obtain plenty of room to muster and sail around these rivals on the first turn. He has never been out of the money in three starts from this draw. Forgiving last start, he has been racing against some of the most talented chasers in the country over this trip including Zambora Brockie, Chica Destacada and La Grand Logie. He is way down in class here (Grade 4/5) and hasn’t competed in this grade since September last year where he saluted in fine style. His PB here of 29.74 is 6 Lengths quicker than any other chaser in this field.
Race 11 Meadows Conf. & Events Cup Prelim 8
#2 Mystery Ride
Even though this chaser has been in good form over this trip in winning his past two starts in slick time, I believe there will be a stack of early pressure around him and there is a high chance of him being spat out the back of the field here on the first turn. He needs early room to muster before he can kick into top gear and with the pacy Zoe drawn underneath him and early pace from Elite Enfield and Lass Bale I feel something will have to give on the first turn. Marley Bale has been placed in a Group 1 final and Allen Marky was enormous in winning at Cranbourne last Wednesday so there are a stack of chances in this race and Mystery Ride will be way unders in betting.
