Pakenham Markets R1 – 8

R1 Bet365 Maiden Plate 1200m 6:00pm

Plenty of first up and first start runners along with a number of key gear changes present uncertainties here. Wingstack resumes for the Freedman camp with two of three career runs so far good enough to go very close.

Betting moves will provide further insight to its readiness. Trimouille next best with the benefit of one run back and potentially well suited on soft groud.

Race Confidence: Low

Runner Name Rating
11. Wingstack $3.40
10. Trimouille $6.00
6. Red Silhouette $8.00
3. Miss Scandilous $9.00
1. Allisam $10.00
5. Plus Effronte $16.00
7. Sagoni $21.00

9. Tio Madonna $51.00
8. Sals Reward $61.00

R2 Middy’s Data & Electrical Maiden 1200m 6:30pm

The top two dominant the market and look clearly better than the others. Le Capitaine is first up off one Saturday class run back in July where he was held up until the 200m and went to the line well. He’s hard to beat in this, but $1.40 in current markets offers no appeal. Airlie Magic was to a smart one last start and looks much better suited up to 1200m in this. She brings ability that could challenge Le Capitaine.

Race Confidence: Good

R3 Meluca Group Maiden Plate 1600m | 7:00pm

There’s not much separating the top 3 chances in this. Rue De La Vie has been solid in her last two and perhaps not best suited last start settling on the fence on an “inside off” track. She looks well suited here sitting back off the pace and having the last shot at them. Rockaway closed soundly from well back last start and looks suited up to 1600m. Gallileos Pearl finished 0.1L behind Rue De La Vie and has an improver’s profile.

Race Confidence: Average

Runner Name  Insider Rating
9. Rue De La Vie  $3.40
8. Rock Away  $3.70

R4 Fleming’s Nurseries Maiden Plate 1400m | 7:30pm

Lotta Sugar brings the best recent rating into this race from her last start Maiden 2nd and should be fitter with the benefit of that run. Marwinzig has been solid in her last 3 and has genuine claims, however not sure barrier 1 is going to be suitable on this track.

Race Confidence: Good

Runner Name  Insider Rating
9. Lotta Sugar  $2.60
6. Marwinzig  $4.50
7. Revelation  $7.00
2. Mai Shiny Choice  $12.00
4. The Contortionist  $20.00
1. Our Son George  $21.00

R5 ISG Projects (BM64) 1400m | 8:00pm

Electric Tribute’s last start 2nd at Sandown is supported by a number of previous performances that make him the dominant chance here. I would have preferred a middle draw though. Ionlythinkofyou is clearly next best, but was 2.2L behind Electric Tribute last start and started 4 x the price.

Race Confidence: Average

Runner Name  Insider Rating
2. Electric Tribute $1.60
6. Ionlythinkofyou $9.50
4. Manwell $11.00
1. I Bought A Horse $12.00
5. Holy Heart $16.00
7. Maldonado $41.00
8. Keiths Promise $251.00

Dubai King’s last two runs measure up as very hard to beat here and he comes in on a quick 4 day back up from Ballarat on Sunday. An inexperienced jockey is the only concern. Grancabrio got well back and did nothing at Sandown last start but prior run and a number of ratings from last preparation measure up as very competitive in this. Soft ground and a wide draw to run on down the middle look suitable.

Race Confidence: Good

Runner Name  Insider Rating
2. Dubai King $2.70
1. Grancabrio $4.40
5. Florence $6.00
6. Dollars Not Sense $10.00
3. Alec John $20.00
4. Miss Carobose $31.00
9. Taraji $31.00
10. Calmalist $67.00
8. Chadra Boy $331.00

R7 Gordon Mckay (BM78) 1200m | 9:00pm

Walk This Way has returned in good form this campaign with a first up win (this track & distance) and a very solid 2nd at Moonee Valley last start. Both of those runs are good enough to win this and a middle draw / off pace positions looks to suit nicely. Armada was sound first up and will take improvement from the run. He’s likely to be well back in the run, but will be hitting the line strongly.

Race Confidence: Good

10. Walk This Way $3.30
4. Armada $6.00
13. Tigers Cub $7.50

R8 Ultra Signs (BM64) 1200m | 9:30pm

Little Indian is clearly on top here on the back of either of her two runs this preparation. A good rider and the right draw make her very hard to beat.
