LAY: 11. Alma Rise (WIN) for 2.5 unit(s) (Rated at: $2.4)

Alma Rise a strong winning hope but way too short for me at 1.65, her debut rating was ok without being anything great and visually she looked like she was motoring late, where sectionally the others were just falling in a hole.

BACK: 7. Nakoa (WIN) for 4 unit(s) (Rated at: $1.55)

Happy to pull the trigger Nakoa with the recent change of tactics that they will ride her closer. She had little winning chance on debut at Sandown and the late market knew all about it, as she doubled in price late. She produced the best last start rating in the race and the form has more than stacked up around her.

10. Tertulia
6. Inaugural
4. Howlin’ Rain
11. Alma Rise

RACE 2 | SELECTIONS

7. Starton
10. Do You Deal
11. Zoomed
6. Yorkel

Betting Strategy

NO BET.

Little interest here, Starton was good enough last start to suggest a maiden victory is only around the corner but at the same time, he appears an extremely limited commodity.

RACE 3 | SELECTIONS

8. Real Alliance
5. Expolsive Rosie
6. Kingdome Of Castile
2. Black Zous

Betting Strategy

NO BET.

Not much between four or five in this race for me, Real Alliance was even money into 1.25 last time out at Moe and although she only fell in, the long spell indicates to me she probably wasn’t at her best that day and the jumpout in preparation for this was terrific.

Explosive Rosie was almost the run of the meeting first-up then was poor last start at Caulfield Heath despite being in the inferior part of the track, an improver back on the home deck.

RACE 4 | SELECTIONS

1. Legionnaire
8. I Never Dreamed
4. Vadaboy
7. Korobeiniki

Betting Strategy

NO BET.

Interested to see the late market on the exchange in this race, I Never Dreamed was a big drifter in a harder race last start, Legionnaire is a track and trip horse.

RACE 5 | SELECTIONS

8. Tulsa King
10. Everlasting Kiss
2. Captain Electric
5. King Of Wessex

Betting Strategy

NO BET.

Tulsa King was terrific first-up at Terang, settles closer and goes close here.

RACE 6 | SELECTIONS

7. Nakoa
5. Zombie Missile
9. Littlebirdie
11. Tarvue

Little opinion, no bet.

PAKENHAM RACECOURSE | TIPS

Summary

Pakenham Racecourse is located 70 kilometres south-east of the Melbourne CBD. As well as two tracks (turf and Polytrack), the racecourse also houses a world-class training facility used by some of Victoria’s leading stables, including Peter Moody and Phillip Stokes. Local trainers have a particularly good strike rate at their home track, and often feature in Betfair’s Pakenham tips.

Key Events

The Pakenham Cup, held each December, is the club’s major raceday. The Listed 2500m contest was won in 2021 by Smokin’ Romans, ridden by Jamie Kah and trained by Ciaron Maher and David Eustace. The feature race of the club’s jumps racing program is the Mosstrooper Steeplechase, whether it’s on the flat or over the fences head to the Betfair Hub for Pakenham best bets on each and every meeting.

Track Profile

The turf track (circumference 2,410m, width 25m) has a fibre reinforced sand profile with full subsurface drainage system. The home straight is 480m long, with a testing rise to the winning post (similar to Sandown). The course generally exhibits little bias and appears to perform well in wet and dry weather conditions, meaning punters can bet with confidence. Find Pakenham tips today on the Betfair Hub.

History

Pakenham Racing Club was first formed in 1875. From hosting once-a-year picnic meetings the club gradually grew in stature, with the Pakenham Cup first run in 1926. Today the club hosts several race meetings, with night racing on the turf track in summer and autumn and jumps racing during winter, as well as flat races on the all-weather synthetic surface. Betfair brings you the best Pakenham tips all year round.
