TASRacing: Devonport, Sunday 17th June 2018

Devonport hosts racing on Sunday with a competitive 7 race program featuring a number of Tapeta track specialists. The first race is an interesting affair with the unraced Kwai sure to draw plenty of attention off an impressive trial showing, while promising sprinter Silzoar tries to make it three wins in a row in race 3.

Every week at Betfair, On Course Bookmakers from across the country will be nominating their LAY of the week.

Get the latest LAY nominations for Saturday 16th June below.

Kevin Saber (VIC)

Moonee Valley Race 5 #3 Inn Keeper

Saber says: “Good horse but it’s  tough ask backing up 8 days from a Swan Hill heavy 10 against this handy field.”

David Dwyer (NSW)

Rosehill Race 2 #1 Gresham

Dwyer says: “Impressive at last two starts but finds more opposition here where it will not lead and is drawn inside. At $3.50 happy to oppose in this race.”

Jonathan Walsh  (VIC)

Moonee Valley Race 5 #3 Inn Keeper

Walsh says: “Potted this one last week and it got to the best part of the cow paddock and held on (spewing). Can get crossed Saturday at the Valley and has had everything go right in his last few starts, with plenty speed in the race and at a short quote I’m putting him in again.”

Curly Seal (SA)

Morphettville Race 8 #1 Mystified

Seal says: “Hasn’t won for a while, will be wide in big field, risking @ $3.00.”

Peter McCormack (WA)

Belmont Race 2 #2 Pearl Trade

McCormack says: “Got through the field late to run second to the rising star Fabergino last start at 1000m. A get back horse that might be looking for 1200m now I am prepared to risk at under $3.00.”

Norm Oke (VIC)

Moonee Valley R3 #5 Artie Dee Two

Oke Says: “With its lack of gate speed I expect it will get back and be pocketed on the fence from the tricky barrier. If Seven Year Reward can control the race it may be too hard to run down. Too short for my liking.”

Barry Cook (NSW)

Port Macquarie Sunday R1 #3 Sizzleonthebridge

Cook says: “Can’t believe this horse is around the $2.50 mark coming out of a poor race last start and is meeting some nice horses here. The bag is open to its full width!”

Ray Swannie (VIC)

Moonee Valley Race 7 #2 Miss Leonidas

Swannie says: “Every possible chance last start Flemington. Up in weight and jock had one win in past 24 rides looks a risk.”
