Racing returns to Devonport this Sunday for an 8 race program featuring predominantly big fields and plenty of depth. With substantial rain this week leading into the meeting the Tapeta surface should be in great condition and provide a fair racing surface as usual.
Thoroughbred racing on Wednesday is in Devonport with the running of the $100,000 Simons Design Centre Devonport Cup. The 9 race program is very competitive with considerable depth to all of the races which should make for a challenging day for punters.
Devonport hosts its traditional Sheffield Cup meeting on Boxing Day on Monday, with a strong 7 race card featuring many horses capable of making some noise over the carnival. The Tapeta surface has played very well for a long time now and the expected rain on Monday will have no effect.
Racing returns to the Tapeta synthetic surface on Friday with the popular James Boag Golden Mile meeting to be run at Devonport. The all-weather track should be in perfect condition following a couple of months’ rest, with the 7 race program set to kick off at 2:15pm.
