Stakes Day Promotions

I’m taking aim at Stakes Day this Saturday. The market place is again offering bonus bets and money back for certain races across the card.

For the savvy Betfair punters out there, showcased below are a chosen few promotions available across Stakes Day and details on how to use them to your advantage.*

WILLIAM HILL, TOM WATERHOUSE & CENTREBET Promotion

‘If your horse runs 2nd or 3rd in races 1 to 4 at Flemington – Get Your Money Back up to $25.’

To take advantage of this promotion you can adopt the betting approach below:

Maximum Profit
Large potential win while having a minimal risk.
Note – you must select the horse that finishes 2nd or 3rd.

A)   Place a $25 bet on Divan at $2.75 with William Hill (Win Market)

B)   Place a $22.21 Lay bet on Divan at $3.20 with Betfair (Win Market)

If Divan finishes 2ndor 3rd:

A)   $0 position ($25 stake refunded due to finishing position)

B)   $20.58 profit ($21.89 Lay profit minus $1.31 with 6% exchange commission)

Result: $20.58 profit

If Divan finishes 4th or further back:

A)  $25 loss

B)  $20.58 profit ($21.89 lay profit minus $1.31 with 6% Exchange commission)

Result: $4.42 loss

If
Divan Wins the race:

A)   $43.75 profit

B)   $48.17 loss

Result: $4.42 loss

How to calculate Lay amount for maximum reward and minimum risk

If the Back and Lay prices have changed. Simply follow the below steps to determine your new Lay amount. These steps are based on the odds available in the above example.

Lay Stake
= (Back Stake + Winnings) / (Lay Odds – Commission)
= ($25 + [($25 x $2.75) – $25)] / ($3.20 – 0.06)
= $68.75 / $3.14
= $22.21

Due to the promotion offering $25 cash back for the horse that finishes 2nd or 3rd, if your selected horse finishes in one of these positions you will be credited your cash bet stake of $25 back. Thus resulting in a $20.58 profit.

This promotion can be taken advantage of across all 3 bookmakers – William Hill, Tom Waterhouse and Centrebet in each race 1-4. This approach effectively gives you the opportunity of a $75 bet refund per race, increasing your potential profit threefold if executed correctly.

  • Available for the Races 1-4 at Flemington Saturday 7th November
  • Applies to your first Fixed Odds Win bet on the race.
  • Max $25 bet refund
  • Bet must be placed on Saturday 7th November to be eligible
  • Excludes residents in WA
