Major Players

1. Rampage: The inside barrier is probably going to be a negative for this runner. He won on debut at Moonee Valley before sticking on well enough, although beaten 6L into third by Extreme Choice. Drops in class but rises in distance.

10. Wonderful Story: He’s had a lovely preparation in the lead up to this race. Given an easy trial on debut before being sent to the paddock to strengthen up. He came back to the trials in January and has put in two quality efforts. The key points that have impressed is his ability to relax during the run and then finish off his races. He looks a real professional and looks a good chance to register Chris Waller’s first win for a 2YO.

11. Twist Tops: She resumed two weeks ago at Randwick and finished off her 1000m race well, beaten 1.3L by Scarlet Rain. We wanted to see her strengthen up over the break but judging by her return she will always be a small filly. Her size my limit her ability to win these bigger races, regardless she’ll be finishing off well.

Betting Strategy

Back on Betfair BACK – WIN – Wonderful Story – 8 units at $3+

Being a race that is restricted to horses nommed for the Inglis Classic Sale you can safely assume the depth would be lesser than a open $250K event! I feel the chances are limited here.
