Every week at Betfair, On Course Bookmakers from across the country will be nominating their LAY of the week.

Get the latest LAY nominations for Saturday 16th April below.

JONATHAN WALSH (VIC)

Caulfield Race 6 – #12 Almighty Girl

Walsh Says: “3yo filly thrown into an open class field getting only 4kg off the top weight who is a proven Group One winner. There’s plenty of speed engaged which means she’ll be under pressure much earlier than she’s used too. She must go in at the price. ”

RAY SWANNIE (VIC)

Caulfield Race 1 – #5 Sly Romance

Swannie Says: “Had the run of the race last start where others in the market had plenty go wrong. Expecting things to turn around here as this horse is up in weight and distance. Happy to be against him at $3.00.”

NORM OKE (VIC)

Caulfield Race 7 – #2 Firehouse Rock

Oke Says: “Is racing well below his best and hasn’t won since September 2015. Has drawn wide and will be a mile back in running making him impossible to back.”

CURLY SEAL (SA)

Morphettville Race 6 – #7 Ariaz

Seal Says: “Sharp rise to stakes grade and rising to 1200m for the first time. This looks a deep race with plenty of improvers.”

PETER MCCORMACK (WA)

Ascot Race 5 – #1 Magnifisio

McCormack Says: “Keen to lay the 2014 Winterbottom Stakes winner who hasn’t won in the 511 days since. Seems to have lost the zest for racing and can’t see her beating Wink An A Nod at the weights.”

TREVOR BURROWS (WA)

Ascot Race 6 – #8 Whispering Brook

Burrows Says: “Undefeated after five starts but faces a big challenge out to 1400m for the first time. Looks very short at $2.25 in early markets and I’ll be laying him expecting Saul’s Special to improve sharply. ”

STEVE WALTERS (TAS)

Randwick Race 3 – #1 Old North

Walters Says: “Risking at even money given that he’ll be back and wide of a tricky draw with the rail out. Leaning the way of his stablemate Asinara who will be more forward in running and prove hard to rundown.”

BARRY COOK (NSW)

Randwick Race 9 – #13 Nancy

Cook Says: “Has gone close this time in without winning and she might have found her mark. This race looks deep with some tough older gallopers and we expect her to drift from her early market price of $3.70. No Value.”

DAVID DWYER (NSW)

Randwick Race 7 – #6 Press Statement

Dwyer Says: “Taking on Press Statement at the $3 quote. He’s now 4th up with three weeks between runs in a great race. I  Think there’s five serious chances to beat him in Kermadec, Black Heart Bart, Malaguerra, English and the Kris Lees import Goldstream.”

KEVIN SABER (VIC)

Caulfield Race 6 – #12 Almighty Girl

Saber Says: “Don’t fancy the ‘up and coming’ filly around the 4/1 quote against more seasoned gallopers. She looks very poorly weighted with the likes of The Quarterback, Miss Promiscuity and Tycoon Tara all racing in great form.”
