Every week at Betfair, On Course Bookmakers from across the country will be nominating their LAY of the week.

Get the latest LAY nominations for Saturday 8th October below.

JONATHAN WALSH (VIC)

Caulfield Race 2 – #4 Assign

Walsh Says: “The Herbert Power field is small and there’s some better performed horses than the current favourite. I’m happy to put the horse in as the $3.00 favourite.”

RAY SWANNIE (VIC)

Caulfield Race 2 – #4 Assign

Swannie Says: “Come up a short favourite in a small field where all horses are in good form. Always a hard task facing three Darren Weir trained runners so happy to risk the WIliams horse at 2/1.”

NORM OKE (VIC)

Caulfield Race 9 – #4 He’s Our Rokkii

Oke Says: “Has drawn barrier one and by the time they race the Toorak I’m confident that the fence will be off. He may also need luck threading through the field so keen to lay him as favourite.”

KEVIN SABER (VIC)

Caulfield Race 7 – #4 Foxplay

Saber Says: “Has Sydney form but a big concern for me is three weeks between runs and Caulfield for the first time. $3.20 looks rock bottom in a competitive race.”

CURLY SEAL (SA)

Morphettville Race 1 – #4 Name The Day

Seal Says: “Has won its last two starts in weaker company but this looks a big step up in class. Very happy to risk at $2.60.”

PETER MCCORMACK (WA)

Bunbury Race 8 – #14 Heart Starter

McCormack Says: “First up from a wide draw looks a difficult assignment for this on pacer. There’s plenty of speed drawn to its insider and I will need a touch of William Pike wizardry here. Pike’s appointment will keep it very firm in the market.”

  STEVE WALTERS (TAS)

Caulfield Race 10 – #12 Star Turn

Walters Says: “3yo at WFA early in the season has been traditionally tough over the years and I believe this is a tough assignment for this colt.”

BARRY COOK (NSW)

Randwick Race 2 – #2 Invincibella

Cook Says: “This runner has come up under the odds Saturday. While it’s been in the finish in its last five starts it’s now up in weight and meets a very deep field.”

DAVID DWYER (NSW)

Randwick Race 7 – #11 Yankee Rose

Dwyer Says: “Is a popular filly that appears suited to 2000m. However, I’m not convinced it can give Prized Icon and High Mist a start and beat them if she settles back. At $2.60 she’s a massive risk and is likely to trade higher In-Play.”
