Piccadilly Princess will more than likely lead early with Apassionato getting the soft run behind it. Golden Goddess will look to get off the fence fairly early and hopefully gain a trail into it. Bettor Think Quick will also look for a trail – maybe Arden’s Choice will surge forward and look for the chair at some stage.
2. Piccadilly Princess: Stablemate of the nominal favourite from the all-conquering Mark Purdon All Stars stable. Had the cold sit on Golden Goddess last time on the grass at Methven when it won a heat of the Nevele R Fillies Series. That came off the back of a very good second to that same filly in the Group 1 Sires Stakes Final at this track. Looks to be peaking at the right time and can give the favourite a run for its money here.
3. Bettor Think Quick: Sat behind Arden’s Choice last time here in a heat of the Nevele R Fillies and went straight past it in the sprint lane. Looks like it will need a sit again here and can look to trail whoever comes to the chair early. Prior to that was fifth and third to Golden Goddess at big odds. Can run Top 4 but needs to step up again to win this.
8. Arden’s Choice: Originally one of the All Stars but has been with Barry Purdon at its last two starts which have resulted in a second after leading to Bettor Think Quick and a third to Robbie Burns last time in a C2-C3. Looks to have dropped its form a touch from November last year when it started favourite in front of Golden Goddess in a heat of the Sires Stakes finishing second. Ran sixth three starts ago behind Golden Goddess in the Sires Stakes Final after a good second to that horse in the G2 Caduceus Club. If she can get back to the form which saw her run third and second at her first two career starts behind Dream About Me in the Group 1 Sires Stakes Championship and 2yo Diamond (Jewels) then she is a real chance.
9. Golden Goddess: Drawn horribly inside the second row in the 9 gate. This smart filly has won six from eight but had her colours lowered last week when first up for 52 days when second. Did it the hard way that day and will improve second up tonight. Has notched some big victories in her short career including the G1 Sires Stakes Fillies Championship and the G2 Caduceus Club. No doubt she is the best horse here but the draw will prove tricky.
