Lay Nominations, Saturday 22nd April 2017

Every week at Betfair, On Course Bookmakers from across the country will be nominating their LAY of the week.

Get the latest LAY nominations for Saturday 22nd April below.

JOHNATHON WALSH (VIC)

Caulfield Race 5 – #10 Je Suis Tycoon

Walsh Says: “This filly is likely to get back in a capacity field against the colts. The field has a few unknowns and with horses open to improvement. With this in mind I am happy to take her on as favourite.”

RAY SWANNIE (VIC)

Caulfield Race 5 – #10 Je Suis Tycoon (Place)

Swannie Says: “Ran OK last start but it was on its home track. Jockey strike rate is average and this looks harder again. In a big field I think it can miss a place.”

NORM OKE (VIC)

Caulfield Race 4 – #9 Ruthven

Oke Says: “Dropping back in trip and returning to Melbourne after a tough run in the Sydney slop. Usually a fan of heavy to dry but at the early price of $2.30 is far too short for me.”

 KEVIN SABER (VIC)

Randwick Race 1 – #4 Debonairly

Saber Says: “Think his form is suspect and at odds on is a good risk. Four weeks between runs is another concern as is the drop back to 1100m.”

CURLY SEAL (SA)

Morphettville Race 7 – #1 Kenedna

Seal Says: “Might have to give them a big start from barrier 19 and will need plenty of luck. The other query is her effectiveness on a wet surface at this level. Has already been $3.50 to $4.00.”

PETER McCORMACK (WA)

Ascot Race 7 – #2 Dark Alert

McCormack Says: “This is a bad race. It is the only two mile event for the year and consequently only one starter has ever raced over the distance before. That being the lowly rated Battle King who has a rating of 50 in a race which is rated a 83+. It actually ran third in the race last year highlighting what a truly bad race it is. If Dark Alert stays two miles it probably wins, but if it doesn’t it can’t win. AT $1.50 I am willing to find out.”

BARRY COOK (NSW)

Randwick Race 1 – #1 The Mighty Fed (Place)

Cook Says: “Beat up average Horses last start at Warwick Farm and can’t see it figuring in this at all from a negative position on the speed map.”

DAVID DWYER (NSW)

Randwick Race 8 – #6 Big Duke

Dwyer Says: “It was very well supported in the Cup betting a fortnight ago but to my eye it was not travelling like a winner before the race was abandoned. At $3.50 I’m happy to find out how it will go in the second version of the race. ”
