#8 Cut Loose Max
This chaser does his best racing from inside draws. 10 of his 12 career wins have come between boxes inside five, with only two wins from outside draws. Even though there doesn’t appear to be any early speed from Beks and By The Gallon, I think one of two things will happen.
Either he will begin well and burn a lot of energy early trying to cross his rivals and tire late, or he will be stubborn and want the fence early and could drift too far back out of contention. He was no match for Dewana Babe last start and she is also in this race which adds to my lay confidence.

#3 Eren Bale
He has been in career best form in recent starts with scintillating wins at Ballarat (on a very wet track) and in a heat of the Traralgon Cup where he led all the way. He had no luck in the final at his next start and chased with great heart to finish third.
He looks well drawn here close to the rails and he should find the fence, or at worst a sit right behind the leaders enabling him to click through his gears. This dog is one to follow heading into the big feature races in the Spring and I am confident he will salute tonight.
