Every week at Betfair, On Course Bookmakers from across the country will be nominating their LAY of the week.

Get the latest LAY nominations for Saturday 2nd April below.

JONATHAN WALSH (VIC)

Mornington Race 4 – #9 Honourable Tycoon

Walsh Says: “From a wide draw is likely to settle midfield no cover, so he may end up well back in running. This is his 9th start for the preparation and there’s nothing in his last start sectionals to indicate $3.20 is value against this field.”

RAY SWANNIE (VIC)

Randwick Race 8 – #1 Chautauqua

Swannie Says: “Disappointing last start in the Newmarket and I’m not convinced there’s much improvement left in him. This looks a deeper race with some lightly raced horses on big upward spirals.”

NORM OKE (VIC)

Mornington Race 9 – #3 Observational

Oke Says: “Looks tested in this race with the favourite Tom Melbourne looking one out of the box. Confident he’ll run out the 2400m but not sure he has the turn of foot to beat the Freedman trained runner.”

KEVIN SABER (VIC)

Mornington Race 8 – #16 Meursault

Saber Says: “NSW galloper that’s only won in restricted class. Looks poorly handicapped for a runner priced around the $4.5-$5.00 mark at his first start around a right handed Mornington circuit that brings plenty unstuck.”

CURLY SEAL (SA)

Morphettville Race 6 – #4 Tycoon Sofie

Seal Says: “Has come up far too short around the $3.30-3.50 mark, rising to a distance she’s yet to be tried at. Add to that the rise in grade and I think she’ll be up against it from barrier 10.”

PETER MCCORMACK (WA)

Ascot Race 7 – #2 Atacama Sky (E/W)

McCormack Says: “Keen to take on Atacama Sky on heavily each way from barrier 12 where he’ll either get posted wide or be used up to cross a strong early tempo. This edition of the Karrakatta Plate looks very deep and he won’t finish top three.”

TREVOR BURROWS (WA)

Ascot Race 3 – #4 All Gee

Burrows Says: “This 3YO has put together four wins in a row from a maiden to a stakes race. He was extremely lucky to win last start after Showy Chloe endured a horror run in transit. It won’t be a walk in the park this time and I’ll be laying it heavily at $2.00.”

STEVE WALTERS (TAS)

Mornington Race 3 – #1 Mr Markou

Walters Says: “Strange things tend to happen when 2YOs rise to 1500m plus, and although Mr Markou has had the most race experience I’m confident there’s a few in this field that are more suited up in distance. In a deep race I’ll be laying him at $2.80.”

BARRY COOK (NSW)

Randwick Race 6 – #8 Yankee Rose

Cook Says: “Beat home Telperion in the Golden Slipper but if you swapped runs it would be a very different story. There’s also a strong chance the filly could be flat second up and looking for further already. Very happy to risk her.”

DAVID DWYER (NSW)

Randwick Race 9 – #3 Winx

Dwyer Says: “What a wonderful 12 months this mare has put together, a stunning Cox Plate win and undefeated this time in. She’s come up $2 in a handicap race against some very smart horses, some with significant weight swings specifically First Seal & Azkadellia. No doubt the Winx is flying but the $2 quote is partly due to her public following and from barrier 12 she’ll get no favours from her opposition.”
