Get the latest LAY nominations for Saturday 2st May below.

JONATHAN WALSH (VIC)

Flemington Race 3 – #8 Killarney Kid

Walsh Says: “Contests a deep race today after beating up on ‘second stringers’ last start. Likely to end up three pairs back on the fence in running at looks under the odds at 5/2 ($3.50) in the old school figures. Great lay if no others deep in the market are scratched.”

RAY SWANNIE (VIC)

Flemington Race 4 – #14 Santa Rocks

Swannie Says: “Looks an open race and this mare was entitled to finish off much better last start in much weaker company. With a low rating and an inexperienced apprenticed engaged I can’t have her anywhere close to 2/1. ”

NORM OKE (VIC)

Flemington Race 1 – #12 Sebring Dream

Oke Says: “Was a big debut run in a high rating race over 1100m but not convinced the rise to 1400m off a two-week break will suit. Keen to put her in at 2/1 in a race with multiple winning hopes. ”

KEVIN SABER (VIC)

Cranbourne (Friday 21/05) Race 4 – #1 Monteux

Saber Says: “Has opened at $1.60 in early markets which looks like poison. Monteux steps up from a mile to 2080m rises to 60kg and is a slight query on rain affected ground. Zlatan is an improver set to get a soft lead & Black Stardom was going well last start before a change in tactics, gets a senior jockey tonight. ”

CURLY SEAL (SA)

Morphettville Race 5 – #2 Alpine Eagle

Seal Says: “Concede he’s a galloper with above average ability but a mile first up against a field of rock hard fit horses he must go in the bag. He’ll be buried back along the fence in running and I’m hoping he sees no daylight.”

TREVOR BURROWS (WA)

Belmont Race 4 – #8 Military Reign

Burrows Says: “Could start odds on but definitely won’t get an easy time up front with plenty of speedsters engaged. Very keen a number of run on gallopers can spoil the party for William Pike.”

STEVE WALTERS (TAS)

Melton (Harness) Race 4 – #10 Illawong Byron

Walters Says: “Is a classy 2yo trotter but could take fright and gallop. This is a deep race with plenty of improving runners making the $1.40 early seem rock bottom.”

BARRY COOK (NSW)

Rosehill Race 3 – #3 Pioneering

Cook Says: “Had every favour in running first up and got nailed on the line. This is a much deeper race with Spieth also now staying in Sydney. Also get the feeling Pioneering will be looking for further than 1100m now.”

DAVID DWYER (NSW)

Rosehill Race 7 – #10 Rockolicious

Dwyer Says: “Drawn the dreaded inside barrier at Rosehill and gets back in her races. Add an apprentice claiming 2kg into the mix and that’s not a combination I want to take $2.50 about in a very competitive affair. Must go in!”
