Posted: March 18, 2016

Every week at Betfair, On Course Bookmakers from across the country will be nominating their LAY of the week.

Get the latest LAY nominations for Saturday 19th March below.

JONATHAN WALSH (VIC)

Bendigo Race 8 – #12 Silent Sedition

Walsh Says: “Breaks too many golden rules to be favourite here. Up in Class, against the males etc. She can win but at the early market price of $4 it’s impossible to consider that value. ”

RAY SWANNIE (VIC)

Rosehill Race 6 – #1 Tarzino

Swannie Says: “Has a tendency to be slowly away and will get a long way back at his first start in Sydney. The $2.60 in early markets is rock bottom and I expect strong support for Vanbrugh & River Wild at double figure odds.”

NORM OKE (VIC)

Bendigo Race 1 – #6 Plote D’Essai

Oke Says: “French Import having its first Australian start for David Hayes & Tom Dabernig. It looks a deep race on paper and his best form is at 1600m or beyond.”

CURLY SEAL (SA)

Morphettville Parks Race 1 – #5 Beluga Blue

Seal Says: “Although it’s only a small field on paper I still think the lack of pace in the race will trouble this runner. Beluga Blue is a get back horse that I believe is better suited to 1600m or further.”

PETER MCCORMACK (WA)

Ascot Race 2 – #9 Pounamu

McCormack Says: “Looks the false favourite of the two runners hard in the market. I expect Pounamu to drift heavily from $1.90 in early markets and have Regal Commander clear on top with William Pike aboard.”

TREVOR BURROWS (WA)

Ascot Race 4 – #4 Atacama Sky

Burrows Says: “Looked visually impressive on debut against inferior opposition. He got away with some cheap early sectionals which won’t be the case here with plenty of speedy juveniles engaged. Expect the race to be set up for swooper’s with The River looking best suited.”

STEVE WALTERS (TAS)

Rosehill Race 5  – #5 Winx

Walters Says: “Small fields can undo the very best of horses and she may have to do more work than necessary here with Turn Me Loose injecting genuine speed into the contest. I’m also expecting her stablemate Kermadec to run a bold race with world class jockey Zac Purton on board.”

BARRY COOK (NSW)

Rosehill Race 5 – #5 Winx

Cook Says: “My father said never lay champions, but maybe she hasn’t earnt that tag just yet. Looking for 8 straight wins she deserves be close to evens but this George Ryder field is white hot. The Kiwi Turn Me Loose will set a strong tempo upfront so if she doesn’t bring her ‘A’ game look out.”

DAVID DWYER (NSW)

Rosehill Race 7 – #1 Extreme Choice

Dwyer Says: “Won the Blue Diamond in style and can see why he’s the early market favourite. However at the price I’m happy to lay him as he’s never seen Rosehill and has drawn an inside alley. This looks a deep race and I’ll be with the local chances.”
