Every week at Betfair, On Course Bookmakers from across the country will be nominating their LAY of the week.

Get the latest LAY nominations for Saturday 5th November below.

JONATHON WALSH (VIC)

Flemington Race 3 – #3 Tom Melbourne

Walsh Says: “Backs up for the first time in his career and after another tough run I’m happy to side with the fresher horses than look better suited out to 2600m. I think he’ll drift from $2.80 on the Exchange.”

RAY SWANNIE (VIC)

Flemington Race 7 – #3 The United States

Swannie Says: “This is a much stronger field than his last two starts in the Crystal Mile and Cantala Stakes. It’s a tough race and I expect the Cox Plate runners to be hard to beat. Big query backing up three weeks on end.”

NORM OKE (VIC)

Flemington Race 3 – #3 Tom Melbourne

Oke Says: “Has come up extremely short for a horse that’s had plenty of racing. Glen Boss rides him best and he’s replaced by Dwayne Dunn here. The extra 100m is another big query.”

KEVIN SABER (VIC)

Flemington Race 9 – #8 Demonstrate

Saber Says: “Not convinced he can account for a stronger field on the back up from Tuesday when he took all of the 1400m to reel in his opponents. $3.00 is rock bottom odds.”

 CURLY SEAL (SA)

Morphettville Race 2 – #2 Extra Choice

Seal Says: “Racing well below his best and his last win was seven starts ago. There’s a handful of winning chances in this event and I’ll be laying him at $2.50.”

PETER McCORMACK (WA)

Ascot Race 6 – #2 Kawi

McCormack Says: “Just arrived from New Zealand via Melbourne off a seven week break. Its main mission is the Kingston Town which is still a month away. Meets some pretty smart rivals with at least one run under their belt and are likely to strip fitter. Kawi has a superb record in New Zealand and Michael Walker Forgoing Emirates day at Flemington for this one ride in Perth would suggest they are pretty serious, but I’ll lean to the locals on their own ‘dung hill’ in this one.”

STEVE WALTERS (TAS)

Canterbury Race 7 – #4 Religify

Walters Says: “On pace runner who may be left a sitting shot in what could be a solid tempo race. Not convinced the rise in trip suits either and can’t have him at odds on.”

BARRY COOK (NSW)

Doomben Race 8 – #13 Privlaka

Cook Says: “Had a big query about this horse running 1400m last start and now rises to 1600m. Thought he was entitled to finish off much stronger than he did last time when he was bloused by 100/1 chance. Drifts from $3.50.”

DAVID DWYER (NSW)

Canterbury Race 6 – #1 Reincarnate

Dwyer Says: “Has a gun draw and should lead around Canterbury. However, it meets a small field who look primed for this. Sir Plush is a horse on the improve and Raijinz and Dream Folk look suited. Add to that Hardly Ever has trialed well in the lead up so $2.30 about the favourite is a long way under the odds”
