Bookies’ Bag: On Course Bookmakers’ LAY Nominations Saturday 3rd September

Posted: September 2, 2016

Every week at Betfair, On Course Bookmakers from across the country will be nominating their LAY of the week.

Get the latest LAY nominations for Saturday 3rd September below.

JONATHAN WALSH (VIC)

Morphettville Race 2 – #1 Tunes

Walsh Says: “A rising 8yo that’s been up for an eternity. He prefers a dryer surface which the ‘parks’ circuit is unlikely to be. He carries the top weight despite the claim for Zac Spain and this race looks a raffle.”

RAY SWANNIE (VIC)

Moonee Valley Race 5 – #8 Heatherly

Swannie Says: “She meets a much stronger field than last start in the Carlyon Stakes where she was gifted the race. She’s likely to get posted wide here and will get no favours from her rivals. Couldn’t possibly take $2.80 in early betting.”

NORM OKE (VIC)

Moonee Valley Race 1 – #3 Kaniana

Oke Says: “Darren Weir trained and Oliver on = unders early. Has its first start at the valley, races in the same class as last start but up significantly in weight. Good risk in a hot race.”

KEVIN SABER (VIC)

Moonee Valley Race 4 – #6 Moss ‘n’ Dale

Saber Says: “This is start seven for the campaign and it comes here off a four week break. Also having his first look at Moonee Valley with a new jockey aboard. Under the odds at $4.20.”

CURLY SEAL (SA)

Morphettville Race 1 – #3 Name The Day

Seal Says: “A backmarker who will find it very hard giving its opposition a start in this race off a wide draw in a small field. Allez Tara should get every favour as will Creance who is drawn barrier 1.  Keen to lay the favourite at odds on. ”

PETER MCCORMACK (WA)

Belmont Race 9 – #6 Chocolate Holic

McCormack Says: “This horse may be the emerging star it is touted to be, but this capacity field of worthy rivals is much deeper than the weak four to six horse fields that it’s been beating up on. Likely to ‘be hot’ in the market and start unders.”

TREVOR BURROWS (WA)

Belmont Race 9 – #6 Chocolate Holic

Burrows Says: “Thought it was unimpressive accounting for a moderate bunch of (four) horses last time.  Looks to be a galloper that takes plenty of urging to pick up the bit in races and will be unsuited in bigger field and is likely to be stuck in traffic. William Pike is on which helps keep it hard in the market.”

STEVE WALTERS (TAS)

Moonee Valley Race 2 – #5 Raw Impulse

Walters Says: “First up drawn the inside gate and is likely to be shuffled back on the fence. As good as Damien Oliver is I expect him to encounter plenty of trouble in running. ”

BARRY COOK (NSW)

Randwick Race 1 – #1 Signposted

Cook Says: “Game front runner who is in great form looking for his fourth straight win. Rises in weight but drops back in distance off a three and a half week break. That set up does not appeal so we’re happy to take him on around the $3.00 mark.”

DAVID DWYER (NSW)

Randwick Race 1 – #1 Signposted

Dwyer Says: “In great form of late winning its last three starts. Looks a smart claim form John Thompson in a weak race but happy to lay him at $2.80 on a heavy track so deep in his preparation (9th up).”
