Every week at Betfair, On Course Bookmakers from across the country will be nominating their LAY of the week.

Get the latest LAY nominations for Saturday 20th August below.

JONATHAN WALSH (VIC)

Moonee Valley Race 7 – #9 Pilote D’Essai

Walsh Says: “Having his first go at the tight turning Moonee Valley track and has drawn the widest barrier. He will settle midfield and he took an eternity to balance up last time at Flemington. At close to even money he looks unders.”

RAY SWANNIE (VIC)

Moonee Valley Race 5 – #8 Ken’s Dream

Swannie Says: “Impressive maiden winner but is now thrown in the deep end at listed level, He’s drawn wide and won’t get things all his own way in a field of ‘up and comers’.”

NORM OKE (VIC)

Moonee Valley Race 5 – #8 Ken’s Dream

Oke Says: “He bolted in at Echuca on a heavy track but he’s drawn awkwardly in barrier 7 this time. This race is difficult on paper so at even money I’m keen to lay as I believe the ‘Darren Weir hype’ has taken value out of his price.”

KEVIN SABER (VIC)

Moonee Valley Race 3 – #5 Heatherly

Saber Says: “Keen going filly that will be up and on the speed in a race full of pressure. She’s drawn well but few horses win this race fresh and now she’s right back up in the weights.”

CURLY SEAL (SA)

Morphettville Race 4 – #2 Niccoco

Seal Says: “Is one win from nine starts and is weighted up to its best form with 60kg. Is $2.80 in early betting which is a surprise given how deep the race looks.”

PETER MCCORMACK (WA)

Belmont Race 5 – #8 Django

McCormack Says: “Rises in class and weight off its last start win in a weak race which favourite Black Dynamite failed. Will have to run a career peak rating to win this and in my opinion does not deserve to be a dominant favourite.”

TREVOR BURROWS (WA)

Belmont Race 7 – #12 Senso

Burrows Says: “Has mixed its distances this preparation out to 2200m now back to a mile. That’s a strange pattern and with a light weight it’s come up short at $3.50 in a very deep race. Expect a big drift with the corporates!”

STEVE WALTERS (TAS)

Moonee Valley Race 5 #8 Ken’s Dream

Walters Says: “Big jump in class here. He’s drawn wide which is always difficult at the valley and I can’t price him up anywhere near as short as $2.20 in this field. Must go in.”

BARRY COOK (NSW)

Randwick Race 1 – #1 Super Tycoon

Cook Says: “Has won three straight and undefeated at 1400m. This race looks deeper and this runner is rising 4kg, we’re happy to oppose at $3.00 in the opener to get us off to a flying start for the day.”

DAVID DWYER (NSW)

Randwick Race 2 – #2 Lie Direct

Dwyer Says: “Won by nine lengths last start on a ‘bog track’ where backmarkers had little to no hope. It rises 3.5kg and is from a battling stable. Deanne Panya is on a hot run but in a race with a few leaders on a dryer track I’m keen to lay the horse at $3.00.”
