Bookies’ Bag: On Course Bookmakers’ LAY Nominations Saturday 1st October

Posted: September 29, 2016

Every week at Betfair, On Course Bookmakers from across the country will be nominating their LAY of the week.

Get the latest LAY nominations for Saturday 1st October below.

JONATHAN WALSH (VIC)

Flemington Race 4 – #1 Under The Louvre

Walsh Says: “Meeting a strong field again this week and will get back in the run. Horses that beat him home last should be improved from their runs which makes the $2.60 very skinny.”

RAY SWANNIE (VIC)

Moonee Valley (N) Race 4 – #7 Estaminet

Swannie Says: “Drawn wide over 955m without her usual rider Ben Melham engaged. Will need plenty of luck in a deep field and is under the odds.”

NORM OKE (VIC)

Flemington Race 4 – #1 Under The Louvre

Oke Says: “Had every chance to win last start after Faatinah set a solid tempo in the Bobbie Lewis. Not sure he can turn the tables on that galloper now he’s lost his fitness edge. $2.60 looks very short.”

KEVIN SABER (VIC)

AFL Grand Final – Western Bulldogs

Saber Says: “As much as I’d love to see the Bulldogs win. I bet with my head and not my heart. Sydney’s experience across the ground will count for a lot on the big stage so laying the Bulldogs at $2.50-2.60 is good value.”

PETER MCCORMACK (WA)

Belmont Race 7 – #1 Lite’N In My Veins

McCormack Says: “Looks set to play a part I the summer carnival, but this is not his race. Absolutely crucified by the set weights and penalties conditions of the race and I’m not convinced 1200m is suitable. Will be spotting some talented sprinters a starts and I doubt he has the turn of foot over this distance to be winning here.”

 STEVE WALTERS (TAS)

Moonee Valley (N) Race 7 – #2 Chautauqua

Walters Says: “Like Extreme Choice here with the light weight who might pinch a break on the champ. And all three mares will settle handy and can give a good kick on the turn. The front runners may cause an upset here.”

BARRY COOK (NSW)

Randwick Race 3 – #1 It’s Somewhat

Cook Says: “Has been in the finish at his last two starts but is yet to win this time in. Although Raw Impulse is likely to be scratched we fell he’s under the odds with the Waller runner a big improver.”

DAVID DWYER (NSW)

Randwick Race 2 – #2 Condor Heroes

Dwyer Says: “Looked fantastic winning a trial by nine lengths in fast time. It’s up against five other trial winners from leading stables. After drawing barrier 10 it will need to be very good to win this. At $2.50 I’m prepared to risk it.”
