Bookies’ Bag: On Course Bookmakers’ LAY Nominations Saturday 19th November

Posted: November 18, 2016

Every week at Betfair, On Course Bookmakers from across the country will be nominating their LAY of the week.

Get the latest LAY nominations for Saturday 19th November below.

JOHNATHON WALSH (VIC)

Ballarat – Race 1 #3 Entrancing

Walsh Says: “Both favourites (including Cheeky Babe) in this race look under the odds for mine. With Entrancing being beaten on its merits last start, she looks the better lay at $3.50. The race looks to have plenty of improvers and I’ll be laying both and hoping for a split.”

RAY SWANNIE (VIC)

Ballarat – Race 7 #3 Secret Agenda

Swannie Says: “Honest mare down in class, but I’m very concerned about her ability to handle a Good rated track. $2.90 is too short and she seems to be the best lay in an even race.”

NORM OKE (VIC)

Ballarat – Race 5 #5 Galaxy Raider

Oke Says: “Bolted in last start in a very weak race and has come up very short in a tricky race here. Rises up to 1600m for the time and is yet to win at the mile. Happy to risk.”

KEVIN SABER (VIC)

Ballarat – Race 7 #3 Secret Agenda

Saber Says: “Goes best fresh and prefers a soft track. With a hot day forecast and a likely Good 3 its hard to get keen about this mare fourth up. Although she’s in OK at the weights, $2.80 is poor value.”

CURLY SEAL (SA)

Morphettville – Race 3 #1 Royal Rumble

Seal Says: “A bookies horse beaten as favourite in his last three starts. Is always slow out and always runs out. Hasn’t won in a very, very, very long time and is $2.20 which is amazing…”

PETER McCORMACK (WA)

Ascot – Race 1 #2 The Forgotten One

McCormack Says: “Laying ‘in form, up and coming’ Durrant trained stayers I must admit is not a strategy that has served me well in the past. However, this runner rises 4kg on its last start win and with that 11 ratings points in its last two runs. Would need to produce a significantly higher lifetime peak rating to win this.”

STEVE WALTERS (TAS)

Ballarat Race 2 #6 Another Diamond

Walters Says: “Has been racing in career best form but now steps up to 1200m and I believe it will tire late on the long run home at Ballarat. For those ‘In-Play’ punters you could back pre-race and lay it at a shorter price live ‘In-Play’ as it should be leading but I still believe its vulnerable.”

BARRY COOK (NSW)

Hawkesbury (Friday) Race 4 #1 Exceed The Moon

Cook Says: “Found an easy lead at Gosford last start and wasn’t overly impressive despite winning. This looks a stronger race with plenty of pressure ‘up front’. Looks a complete lay-up and we’re happy to throw it in the bag.”

DAVID DWYER (NSW)

Rosehill – Race 4 #6 The Bull

Dwyer Says: “This front running Waterhouse/Bott stayer will be popular and looks hard to beat. However, this is its eight run this time in and it strikes a much tougher field at its first Saturday city start. Under the circumstances I’m happy to risk at $3.50.”
