Bookies’ Bag: On Course Bookmakers’ LAY Nominations Saturday 10th September

Every week at Betfair, On Course Bookmakers from across the country will be nominating their LAY of the week.

Get the latest LAY nominations for Saturday 10th September below.

Flemington Race 1 – #3 Black Tomahawk

Walsh Says: “This horse was beaten on its merits last start after having a good run in transit. He meets the winner of the race last in similar terms and needs to improve to win. Outside of the form from that Moonee Valley race he meets a field with much more depth today. I can’t get him anywhere near $4.00.”

Flemington Race 1 – #3 Black Tomahawk

Swannie Says: “Every chance last start in a very weak race at Moonee Valley. He hasn’t won in over a year and looks under the odds for a non-winner.”

Flemington Race 7 – #3 Black Heart Bart

Oke Says: “I’m potting the G1 winner Black Heart Bart. He’s under the odds and has only been to Flemington once down the straight course. Expect a big drift on the day.”

Flemington Race 7 – #3 Black Heart Bart

Saber Says: “With the prospect of a wet track and the rise to 1600m, on pacers will not be as advantaged. Looks very short at the $2.35 early and Flemington will suit the weir stablemate Palentino.”

Morphettville Race 2 – #1 Bay Road

Seal Says: “Disappointing last start and whilst he’s stepping back in grade there’s plenty of speed engaged. He won’t get any peace in front and looks a great lay at $3.00.”

Belmont Race 1 – #2 Speeding Comet

McCormack Says: “Showed class as a 2yo to finish on the heels of the placegetters in the big group races. Trained by the ‘king of the kids’ in Simon Miller he is sure to attract plenty of attention. He will need to be right on his game against a handy field of 3yo’s here. Either he trialled ordinary or the trial winner (Cool Knight) is a superstar.”

Belmont Race 4 – #8 George ‘N’ Ernie

Burrows Says: “Only accounted for modest opposition when he came home in the ‘fast lane’ midweek last start. I strongly believe it has average ability similar to the West Coast Eagles and will be found wanting in this company.”

Flemington Race 7 – #3 Black Heart Bart

Walters Says: “Second up and first attempt at the mile at Flemington has been the downfall of many good horses and I believe this is on the cards again!”

Rosehill Race 7 – #9 Southern Legend

Cook Says: “We’re happy to risk him rising in class jumping from 1000m to 1300m which is a very unusual rise in trip. Is rock bottom odds at $2.70 so if you like him back him late.”

Rosehill Race 7 – #9 Southern Legend

Dwyer Says: “Has been impressive winning his last three starts and gets in here with 53kg. He still needs to prove himself at 1300m and this looks a deep field with Rebel Dane, Messene, Counterattack and Tycoon Tara all proven at the distance.”
