R4 Tabtouch Inter Dominion Consolation | 2936| 10:22pm

Going with the best stayer here in Ultimate Art. Tough and the further they go the tougher he gets. Waylade has run top four in last two races and is going well. Cyamach gets the gun run here and looks the leader. Major Crocker will get a gun run on the pegs and did win this race last year. Happy to take on Ima Connoisseur from the back row.

R6 Westral Mares Classic | 2536| 11:30pm

If there’s a big race trainer/driver it’s Mark Purdon. A PICCADILLY PRINCESS had the honour of beating Dream About Me five starts ago (also beating another smart one in Our Golden Goddess). She has been good since coming to WA winning over 2536m here in the very quick time of 1.55.4 then last week was driven quietly when dropped behind the leader from the start and never got a clear run. With a Group 1 up for grabs here there is no way Purdon will be looking for the fence early. At her best, she simply wins this.

DODOLICIOUS gets the plum gate 1 here and has won 15/25 starts, so is no stranger for smiling for the judge. Won two in a row after a let up before forced to do it tough when a decent enough fifth to MAJOR REALITY. That horse led from gate 1 then and would be no surprise to see Prentice have at least a little dip for the lead. IDEAL ALICE won the lead up last week after leading from Gate 1, but doubt she can lead here though. I’m against TRICKY STYX from the draw who has been racing in the Interdom heats and doing a good enough job but the draw is awful. THE PARADE will get the gun run on the pegs and there is none better than Alford.

Looks to be four chances here, I’m sticking with the All Stars in MR MOJITO who looks a future star and it wouldn’t surprise me to see him in the Interdom Class next year. Won seven in a row across the Tasman before having a flat tyre on debut here and tailing out. Showed that was merely a blemish with a soft all the way win here last week defeating NATHANS COURAGE and JOHNNY DISCO. This smart gelding is 8/11 starts and I expect him to win tonight, he has an “X-Factor” about him. MISTER DAYTONA gets the great draw here and is no slouch being 10/13 himself!

Last time a good fourth to MM when ‘1 out 1 back’ but couldn’t match the fast 55.9 home from the winner. Ryan Warwick can pick what he wants to do over the long journey here. SOHO TRIBECA was a fifth last time to CHICAGO BULL in the McInerney Ford Classic (Group 1) when $3.80 after doing it tough. Has had a freshen up and is very smart so it would be no surprise to see him win. The “Bull” looks the other main chance, he won that race that Soho Tribeca was in coming with a late sweeping move when 5/1. Has won 16/26 and is ultra-consistent, nobody drives Gloucester Park better than Gary Hall Jnr.

A shame that defending champion Lennytheshark won’t be here, but that’s the Inter dominion. Three heats in a week then a final and if you can’t handle the pressure then unfortunately you won’t prevail. HECTORJAYJAY is one that hasn’t had much pressure lately and has been winning all too easy. He has tremendous speed which he can use when the mobile goes or just come with one withering burst. Josh Aiken has a decision to make here, when to use it, as about the only place he doesn’t want to be is in the death seat over the near 3000m journey.

He simply looks too good here and I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s aggressive early, and its handlebars down at the start. Either way, he is just too quick around this fantastic racing circuit. BLING IT ON should be sending a thank you card to the barrier draw gods and couldn’t have asked for a better draw. A fantastic sit-sprint horse, he won his heat at Bunbury and was a very good third to SMOLDA last week.

RUN ONEVER looks the other likely candidate for early leader judging on its gate speed at Bunbury. A revelation for the series having run second to Hector and then followed that up with two victories.  The winner surely comes from those 3 with place chances to SMOLDA who is the champion from NZ, fellow Kiwi FRANCO NELSO who hasn’t quite brought his A Game across the Nullabor and BEAUDIENE BOAZ who will be three or four pegs but getting home strong late, with the local champion driver Gary Hall Jnr in the gig. Great race, stand and watch the speed of Hector!

R9 Clipsal By Schneider Electric Trotters Cup  (SS) 2503m | 1:05am

Realistically only four possible chances here. The Swedish bred CARDIGAN BOKO has taken all before it here in the West having dominated his last four starts here. Has started $1.10 favourite at past two starts and at past four starts has won by an average of over 21m. Is five from nine at the SS and looks the winner. SUNNYS LITTLE WHIZ, LIGHTNING CALDER and SAMMY CHARLES are really the only other chances. Be surprised if anything else even ran in the trifecta.
