1. Tonopah: Can run a big race fresh and did so first up last time in when beaten under three lengths in the Hareeba stakes back in April.Likely to find the back of Sir Bacchus or perhaps try and keep that runner in a pocket at some stage. Loves a dry hard surface so has to rate as a player.
5. Sir Bacchus: One of the few 1200m specialists in the field having won five of eight starts at the trip. Has drawn perfectly given his get back running style and booming sprint, provided the track is playing to run on horses. Is lightly raced and will take a world of beating.
6. Duke Of Brunswick: Races well at Caulfield and is well placed here 1200m first up. His form through his last preparation looks strong with Ulmann and Voodoo Lad both performing well in the spring. Barrier 12 will make things tricky for Damien Oliver but that’s the only negative.
9. Murt The Flirt: Tends to mix his form but looks suited here from an inside draw up and on the speed. Knockout chance but needs a few off their game to win.
