The above graph tracks the weighted average prices pre-play from when the market opens up until when the market turns in-play. Eventual winner Exosphere was on a dramatic drift from $3.60 and moved out to as high as $10.00. Punters were still interested in the colt as more than 6% of the total money matched on this runner traded at the big odds of $10.00. Early layers would have relished the drift, being able to trade out closer to the jump.

After the jump, Exosphere settled from the back for the majority of race but in a small field was never far from the mark. The price was steady before Exosphere broke wide at the 300m to hit the front late and notch an exciting first-up win.

At any pre-race odds, Press Statement offered in-play opportunities as the drift continued into as low as $1.22 offering plenty for pre-play players to trade out or in-play punters to lay at the short odds.

Japonism held favouritism and over 63% of the money throughout the pre-race movements trading as high as $2.79 and as low as $1.99. After the jump, he held over 27% of the in-play money and was backed as low as $1.90.
