EXPERT RACING TIPS: WARRNAMBOOL

WARRNAMBOOL PREVIEW | TUESDAY THE 12TH

RAIL: 6m | TRACK: Soft 6

This is close to my first time doing jumps racing form, let’s see how it goes.

RACE 1 | SELECTIONS

2. Teofilo Star
1. Crosshill
4. Serenade The Stars
5. Laybuy

Betting Strategy

BACK: 1. Crosshill (Top 2) (WIN) for 3 unit(s) (Rated at: $1.33)

Teofilo Star would need to fall over to get beaten, be boasts two dominant victories over the jumps last preparation and the last time we saw him he started $3 in a Brisbane Cup. The bet for me is Crosshill to run second at 1.45+. He was good on the flat in a decent form race behind subsequent Metro winner Think ‘n’ Fly, his recent hurdle trial was very good and I’m confident he can fill second.

RACE 2 | SELECTIONS

9. Tarn’s Prince
5. Elementry
4. Calvi
2. Buffalo Bill

Betting Strategy

LAY: 1. Antequera (WIN) for 2 unit(s) (Rated at: $10)

Tarn’s Prince wasn’t too far away at his last couple on the flat at the recent hurdle trial was good. Elementry has been smashed in early betting, he looked very slow on the flat but I really liked the style of his jumping at the trials, I didn’t love Antequera’s jumping, jury out for me on him.

RACE 3 | SELECTIONS

5. Nelson
3. Instigator
2. Mighty Oasis
4. Yulong Place

Betting Strategy

NO BET.

Little between Nelson and Instigator for me, it should be a good contest.

RACE 4 | SELECTIONS

3. Farag
1. Jack Knows Best
8. The Rattlin’ Bog
4. Gunaluva

Betting Strategy

NO BET.

What a contest this is shaping up to be, a 3300m highweight on the flat. Farag profiles best, he won last start against Mercian Hymn who was well backed at his next start, he has had three runs over 2400m+ in the last 6 weeks so the trip shouldn’t be an issue.

RACE 5 | SELECTIONS

3. Star Of Tavistock
1. Crafty Boss
4. Suffolk Star
6. Crossoverkid

Betting Strategy

LAY: 6. Crossoverkid (WIN) for 3 unit(s) (Rated at: $2.8)

A very even race between the top four in betting and therefore, I’m happy to lay the odds on favourite Crossoverkid, a strong male jockey going on board will help him but he did have every possible at Ballarat and that last start SP anchor is probably keeping him shorter than what is deserved.

RACE 6 | SELECTIONS

1. Verbosity
2. Prince Sonic
5. Via Capo
3. Sunburnt

Betting Strategy

NO BET.

I have no read on this race at all.

RACE 7 | SELECTIONS

3. Only The Best
2. Honour De Hero
10. Gold Logie
4. Supreme Thunder

Betting Strategy

NO BET.

This race has is prepping me up nicely to be scratching my head over the three days of the first week of May. Gold Logie was very solid in a decent enough race first-up, then was awful with some market expectations in SA last start, Yendall goes aboard and he’s been $26 into $6.

RACE 8 | SELECTIONS

5. Active Duty
1. Dale’s Rocket
3. The Big Kahuna
6. Katering

Betting Strategy

NO BET.

Active Duty is the only horse that is capable of getting out of this grade and onto better things and although the last start Terang victory wasn’t by a big margin, the track was tricky and shifty that day, the quick back-up for Lindsay is usually a very good thing, market best guide.
