Get the latest LAY nominations for Saturday 8th April below.

JONATHAN WALSH (VIC)

Caulfield – Race 1 #6 Banish

Walsh Says: “Looks to have come up skinny odds mapping to the rear of the field on the rail. Concede she put in a solid trial at Cranbourne but am happy to take her on against the boys at Caulfield.”

RAY SWANNIE (VIC)

Caulfield – Race 7 #4 French Emotion

Swannie Says: “From barrier one it will get back which is not good around Caulfield. The rise to 1800m for the first time looks a big worry and think its way to short in the betting.”

NORM OKE (VIC)

Caulfield – Race 7 #4 French Emotion

Oke Says: “Stable and Jockey going average and this looks a race with plenty of depth. $2.80 is rock bottom.”

KEVIN SABER (VIC)

Caulfield – Race 7 #4 French Emotion

Saber Says: “Coming out of mares races (admittedly group) but 1st time at distance against some seasoned campaigners here. Will get back a little from barrier 1 with out of form jock aboard. Should be laid at around the 2.80 mark”

CURLY SEAL (SA)

Morphettville – Race 2 #2 Freeze Over

Seal Says: “Meeting a much stronger field than last time. There looks to be plenty of speed in the race, which also is likely to play against it. Risking at $1.90.”

PETER McCORMACK (WA)

Ascot – Race 6 #3 Ripper Rio

McCormack Says: “Lightly raced progressive horse with a good strike rate, top jockey and trainer combination that’s also an impressive last start winner. It ticks a lot of boxes and will stay hard in the market consequently. This is a very competitive race and $2.60 is well under the odds.”

STEVE WALTERS (TAS)

Randwick – Race 7 #4 The United States (Place)

Walters Says: “I must say it is not a favourite of mine and can’t say he’s returned that well this time in after a few races that looked very suitable for him. Might improve back to a soft track but I’m happy to lay him at evens to run a place!”

BARRY COOK (NSW)

Randwick – Race 3 #4 Serena Bay

Cook Says: “Despite looking ultra-impressive at Goulburn last start this race is a different kettle of fish. There’s plenty of quality about this field so the step up to Group 2 level may find her out. We’ll be gapping her, laying it for the maximum.”

DAVID DWYER (NSW)

Randwick – Race 3 #3 Shoals

Dwyer Says: “Has won two starts in Melbourne and has opened up around $4.00 in Sydney for the first time in the Percy Sykes, which isn’t an easy race to win. Happy to take it on at the shorts.”
