Every week at Betfair, On Course Bookmakers from across the country will be nominating their LAY of the week.

Get the latest LAY nominations for Saturday 7th October below.

Peter McCormack (WA)

Belmont Race 6 #2 Caipirinha

McCormack Says: “I’m not sure Caipirinha can give Salorsci 3.5kg and a beating. Happy to lay the mare at ‘odds on’ to find out.”

Ray Swannie (VIC)

Moonee Valley – Race 7 #5 Princeton Spirit

Swannie Says: “Two wins on synthetic, now on the grass. Not suited around Moonee Valley with apprentice Steph Thornton on who can do things wrong. Looks a risk around $3.30.”

David Dwyer (NSW)

Randwick R2 #4 Up ‘N’ Rolling

Dwyer Says: “Looked very unlucky as an odds on favourite behind Alward last start and meets him better at the weights in a field of four. At $1.70 I am happy to find out how unlucky he was and go with the other tough stayers he meets here.”

Barry Cook (NSW)

Randwick Race 1 #2 Regent

Cook Says: “Looks a very strong BM78 with plenty of horses on the rise engaged. $3.00 or less is very short given there’s four other winning hopes.”

Steve Walters (TAS)

Randwick Race 3 #3 Interlocuter

Walters Says: “Might struggle second up with a break between runs and a trial. Could be a pressure cooker race and at $2.40 looks short for a horse settle well back.”

Jonathan Walsh (VIC)

Flemington Race 3 #6 Animalia

Walsh Says: “My reading in primary school included Animalia (plenty of nice pictures), I’ve now broadened my horizon’s to form guides. After reading the form I was surprised that he’s come up fav, adding going the Melbourne way the first time under races conditions Saturday I will be putting him in for something. ”

Curly Seal (SA)

Morphettville Race 6 #7 Noboubtaboutit

Seal Says: “Good win last start, but best when drops out, not suited from Barrier 1, will get buried back along the fence. Risking at $2.30.”

Kevin Saber (VIC)

Flemington Race 5 #2 Winx

Saber Says “Have layed her multiple times this preparation and almost pulled off the result. With Humidor in the race and some slow horses she might strike traffic. At $1.20 or less I’ll be laying her. ”

Norm Oke (VIC)

Flemington Race 6 #4 Leather’n’lace

Oke Says “Looks a tough race. She won well last start, but heads to Flemington for the first time, up to the mile, drawn barrier 13 and competes at Group Two level in her fifth race start. She has been leading in her races, will need to work for the lead from that gate and by the famous clock tower might be ready for a drink.”
