Lay Nominations: Saturday 6th May 2017

Every week at Betfair, On Course Bookmakers from across the country will be nominating their LAY of the week.

Get the latest LAY nominations for Saturday 6th May below.

NORM OKE (VIC)

Flemington – Race 2 #3 De Little Engine

Oke Says: “Hasn’t won for almost a year and a half and although he ran well in the Adelaide Cup, is very short in the market for a non-winner.”

STEVE WALTERS (TAS)

Flemington – Race 2 #3 De Little Engine

Walters Says: “His last win was November 2015 on his way to the Sandown Cup. Staggering to think he’s $2.70 in early betting with that in mind. Think Lucques can run a big race on speed and See Line Woman was good enough at Sandown to run well here.  ”

RAY SWANNIE (VIC)

Flemington – Race 6 #2 Zasorceress

Swannie Says: “Has never won over 2000m and will get back in the field with a new jockey on board. With a poor winning strike rate, it looks too short in the market and a good lay.”

JONATHAN WALSH (VIC)

Flemington – Race 8 #5 Crystal Dreamer (Place)

Walsh Says: “Crystal Dreamer has come up race favourite Saturday in a near capacity field at Flemington. With the way the track has been playing at Flemington, its draw and the pace in the race. It is likely to sit further back than usual. Likely to be odds on the place so I’ll be taking something there.”

CURLY SEAL (SA)

Morphettville – Race 2 #2 Second Bullet

Seal Says: “He will be a long way back and look to charge home late but I think he may give away too big a start against a strong even field. I’m happy to risk at $2.60.”

BARRY COOK (NSW)

Morphettville – Race 6 #2 Kenedna

Cook Says: “Probably a suicidal move taking on the D Weir juggernaut in the Oaks, but shocked at her opening quote. She meets a much stronger field than last start and she’s been in work for an eternity. If she hasn’t improved, she won’t win!”

PETER McCORMACK (WA)

Ascot Race 4 #2 Pushin’ Shapes

McCormack Says: “Form horse who trounced a weak field off a hot pace in the Narrogin Cup. First start beyond 2000m since failing in the Derby as a 3yo. Will find this a lot harder with a number of handy stayers dropping back in grade. No value at the $3.20 in early markets.”

DAVID DWYER (NSW)

Rosehill– Race 5 #9 Cannyescent

Dwyer Says: “Has won two of its last four starts and looks well placed. Drawn gate one and gets back on a firm track that may not suit the wet tracker. I’m happy to lay at $4, as this looks a race of many chances.”

KEVIN SABER (VIC)

Gold Coast – Race 4 #2 Invincibella

Saber Says: “Not convinced the leaders style of track will suit her and if they don’t bustle her out early she’ll be back and buried on the fence. She’s three weeks between starts and will probably need the run.”
