Lay Nominations: Saturday 6th August 2016

Every week at Betfair, On Course Bookmakers from across the country will be nominating their LAY of the week.

Get the latest LAY nominations for Saturday 6th August below.

Flemington Race 1 – #1 Khutulun

Walsh Says: “Off the wide draw I expect her to settle near last. With relative weights against she’ll have to run them down to win. With that being the case I’ll be laying her around the $3.00 mark and no doubt she’ll trade much higher ‘In-Play’.”

Flemington Race 7 – #9 Ruettiger

Swannie Says: “Not convinced the wide draw will suit this runner and Craig Williams has been replaced by Daniel Moor. Despite winning this track and distance last time, this looks much harder. Under odds at $4.00 or less.”

Flemington Race 3 – #3 Pin Your Hopes

Oke Says: “Not convinced it will have its own way in front and has never won at 2000m. She’s come up $2.80 in early markets and looks a great lay at that price. I have the Darren Weir runner (Killarney Kid) marked as favourite, with senior rider Brad Rawiller on.”

Flemington Race 6 – #8 Gun Case

Saber Says: “Has won three in a row for Darren Weir and is a 1000m specialist. Stepping up from a Moonee Valley BM78 to a BM90 up the Flemington straight six is no easy task and despite dropping to 54kg after the claim, he looks a false favourite.”

Belmont Race 6 – #5 Pounamu

McCormack Says: “The bookies horse is back! Beaten at a short quote at each of its last four starts in its previous campaign. I’m confident it can kick off in a similar vein this time in. 1200m is too short for this horse who gets back in running. I expect it to flash home late in its typical ‘be on me next time’ style. Has only won two of its past 19 start.”

Morphettville Race 1 – #8 Kifaah

Seal Says: “Had every possible chance last time but only just battled to the line. This looks no easier with a similar scenario unfolding. No value at $3.80 in early betting, happy to risk.”

Belmont Race 7 – #7 Audience

Burrows Says: “Placed to perfection winning three of her four starts since joining the Justin Warwick stable. Had a soft lead last time and suspect that won’t be the case this time with Three Votes drawn on its outside who is the natural leader. There’s more speed drawn even wider which will make this runner vulnerable. Audience may not fill a placing!”

Flemington Race 3 – #3 Pin Your Hopes

Walters Says: “In form’ Mare that’s rising in weight and distance. Diamond Duke will add pressure from a wide alley and I can easily see things setting up well for Golden Mane. I’m always happy to lay the short priced runners early as more often than not you can trade out very easily, especially on distance races.”

Randwick Race 1 – #2 Harlem Lady

Cook Says: “Taking on Harlem Lady in the first and confident the money will stay in the bag! She hit the line strongly at Rosehill last start but hasn’t been tested out to 1800m. Combine that with the rain affected surface and $3.00 looks well under the odds.”

Randwick Race 1 – #2 Harlem Lady

Dwyer Says: “Harlem Lady strikes what appears to be a weak race on a Heavy track in a field of only six. At $3.00 I’m keen to lay her up in distance, with 61 kg and drawn in barrier two. The Waller stable has Defrost My Heart & Firebird Flyer in the race who have good hops and all the roughies are bred to handle the wet ground.”
