Lay Nominations, Saturday 27th January 2018

Every week at Betfair, On Course Bookmakers from across the country will be nominating their LAY of the week.

Get the latest LAY nominations for Friday the 26th and Saturday 27th January below.

Ray Swannie (VIC)

Moonee Valley Race 3 #1 Belwazi

Swannie Says: “Drawn wide with plenty of speed inside could be in for a tough run and looks under the odds.”

Kevin Saber (VIC)

Caulfield Race 1 #11 Nights Watch

Saber Says: “One of my old favourite lays. Seven weeks off. Up in class. Genius DW needs a miracle here!”

Jonathan Walsh  (VIC)

Caulfield Race 7 #3 Barbeque

Walsh Says: “Drawn wide and likely to sit back in the field. Going the Melbourne way for the first time so I’m happy to take on as fav in an open race.”

David Dwyer (NSW)

Rosehill Race 7 #8 George Patton

Dwyer Says: “Impressive overseas five year old now in Snowden stable. However, is first up for 83 weeks and meets a class field . Has to be a massive risk at $3.50.”

Barry Cook (NSW)

Rosehill Race 4 #6 Another Sin

Cook Says: “There should be early pressure in this large field and that shouldn’t suit him. Happy to lay at the current odds.”

Norm Oke (VIC)

Caulfield Race 4 #3 Smart Coupe

Oke Says: “She’s first up over 1100m and was only fair in her recent jump-out. She probably has some bigger targets over the autumn than this race and faces some fit in form horses here. I think there are others that present better value.”

Peter McCormack (WA)

Ascot Race 3 #8 Supreme Force

McCormack Says: “On debut Supreme Force is meeting strong three year old company heading towards the 3yo Magic Millions in a fortnight. Well bred, from a good yard with Pike on after an impressive trial I can understand some interest in the horse. However, the $3 opening price is surprising considering its nine rivals have collectively won 14 races and are proven city class horses. A strong lay at anywhere near that price.”

Curly Seal (SA)

Morphettville Race 6 #3 Olivier

Seal Says: “Not racing in best form and meeting a good sprint field. Risking at $2.30.”
