Get the latest LAY nominations for Saturday 28th January below.

JOHNATHON WALSH (VIC)

Flemington Race 2 #4 Diamond Baroness

Walsh Says: “She has come up favourite ($3.50), drawn wide and is rising in class from a 0-70 to 0-84. From the draw, she’ll either have to work to lead or be left in a wide mid-field position. Seems short at the current price and looks a good lay.”

KEVIN SABER (VIC)

Flemington Flemington – Race 7 #4 Hellbent

Walsh Says: “1st up with bigger fish to fry. Might need touch more than 1000m drawn inside”

RAY SWANNIE (VIC)

Flemington – Race 7 #4 Hellbent

Swannie Says: “I’m hoping he’s not as fully wound up as was the case last prep when it fell in to win a low grade 78 class race. This is a much better race and will need to be at the top of his game, which is why I am prepared to lay him at a price of $1.75.”

NORM OKE (VIC)

Flemington – Race 7 #4 Hellbent

Oke Says: “The Darren Weir trained entire heads to Flemington first up against some decent seasoned gallopers. He has previously performed well up the Flemington straight but at the ridiculous quote currently on offer for this horse, I am happy to take him on.”

CURLY SEAL (SA)

Morphettville Race 3 #4 Strategic Demand

Seal Says: “Is in good form but steps up in grade and will be giving away a start to the leaders. I see no value at $2.20 and is a good Lay.”

PETER McCORMACK (WA)

Ascot Race 2 #1 Dainty Tess

McCormack Says: “It took every ounce of William Pike’s guile and vigour to get this ultra-consistent filly home by a nose last start. With a 3kg claiming apprentice taking over on Saturday I am willing to risk her against some handy opposition.”

STEVE WALTERS (TAS)

Morphettville – Race 4 #6 Sawaiki

Walters Says: “He returns from Queensland and runs very short in a maiden. Combine this with a tricky middle draw and I am prepared to risk it at the current price of $2.50.”

BARRY COOK (NSW)

Sunshine Coast – Race 5 #1 Manaya

Cook Says: “Has not run for five months and has drawn extremely wide in barrier 15 carrying 59kgs. Comes up against some decent little horses and appears a great risk at $2.80. Throw it in the bag!”
