Lay Nominations: Saturday 24th June 2017

Every week at Betfair, On Course Bookmakers from across the country will be nominating their LAY of the week.

Get the latest LAY nominations for Saturday 24th June below.

DAVID DWYER (NSW)

Randwick – Race 1 #4 Last Starfighter

Dwyer Says: “Looked unlucky last start when running on late after missing the start. Handles the wet going but is a maiden against five first starters who have won races and started $31 last start. Looks a good lay at around the $3.00 mark.”

JONATHAN WALSH (VIC)

Flemington – Race 1 #2 Royal Symphony

Walsh Says: “This colt is the shortest favourite on the Flemington card for the day. It meets a capacity field with plenty of unknowns. The risks for me… Will he handle the straight? And how good is the synthetic track form? At the price he has to go in.”

CURLY SEAL (SA)

Morphettville – Race 2 #1 Phelps Glory

Seal Says: “Has 59kg against nice trailers and might be forced to work from a wide barrier. Risking at $2.00.”

KEVIN SABER (VIC)

Flemington – Race 5 #1 Megablast

Saber Says: “Not convinced of the form from its last start seven days ago at The Valley. Probably needs it wetter and the extra 3kg (58.5kg) from barrier 14 puts a nail is his coffin for me.”

PETER McCORMACK (WA)

Belmont – Race 2 #2 It’s It

McCormack Says: “Last start winner that’s up in rating and up 5kg in weight. Got a soft lead and sprinted from the corner last time. There looks a heap of speed here in a very competitive race which makes me think he’ll struggle to repeat a win.”

RAY SWANNIE (VIC)

Flemington – Race 8 #9 Cannyescent (Place)

Swannie Says: “Although winning at 1400m last start I don’t think it runs a strong enough 1400m to win in this class. This will be a fast run race which will make him vulnerable late so easy to see him missing a place.”

NORM OKE (VIC)

Flemington – Race 8 #2 Tshahitsi (Place)

Oke Says: “Tasmanian visitor trying for three in a row. I think this race has quite a bit of depth to it and expect a few of these to improve with race fitness under their belts. He’s very short and worth taking on. Brendon McCoull will need to be at his best from a wide gate so willing to risk him the place!”

BARRY COOK (NSW)

Rockhampton – Race 8 #1 Bold Shot

Cook Says: “Have been a supporter of this horse throughout its career but I cannot see it running the 1600m tomorrow. Happy to let the punters on.”
