Lay Nominations: Saturday 21st January 2017

Every week at Betfair, On Course Bookmakers from across the country will be nominating their LAY of the week.

Get the latest LAY nominations for Saturday 21st January below.

JOHNATHON WALSH (VIC)

Morphettville – Race 2 #4 Two Ducks Artie

Walsh Says: “He’s a horse that is likely to get back in this field and will have to run down more experienced horses at his second race start. At a price of $2.80, I’m happy to take it on.”

RAY SWANNIE (VIC)

Moonee Valley –  Race 6 #6 Big Duke

Swannie Says: “Will come up against a much tougher field than his last start win at Caulfield. Untired at this track and although fully fit he’s too short at this price and one I’m willing to lay.”

NORM OKE (VIC)

Moonee Valley – Race 9 #8 Ameristralia

Oke Says: “Has only been to the Valley once where she finished out of the placings. Was slightly disappointing first up when just better than flip of the coin odds and very short again this week.”

CURLY SEAL (SA)

Morphettville – Race 4 #4 Big Effort

Seal Says: “Coming off a disappointing last run and will have no help from barrier one in this one. He will try to get to the front but with plenty of speed in the race, I’m laying it at a price of around $2.80.”

PETER McCORMACK (WA)

Ascot – Race 1 #10 Massagi

McCormack Says: “Unraced 2yo who won a five horse trial in a slow time off a soft lead. William Pike in the saddle is a big plus, but not enough to justify the short quote in early markets.”

STEVE WALTERS (TAS)

Moonee Valley – Race 9 #8 Ameristralia

Walters Says: “She’s had only the one run at the Valley and was average at best. Has to contend with a tricky draw from barrier six and looks a good lay at a short price.”

BARRY COOK (NSW)

Newcastle – Race 5 #2 Evonne’s Magic

Cook Says: “A last start winner who comes up against some better opposition. Is proven at this distance but the step up in class combined with a biased track is enough for me to be laying her this time round.”

DAVID DWYER (NSW)

Randwick – Race 6 #1 Cauthens Power

Dwyer Says: “Won a very similar race last start at Warwick farm on a biased track to break a 10 start losing run. Up 2 kg and meets the same quality field at half the odds. A good risk.”
