Lay Nominations: Saturday 1st April 2017

Every week at Betfair, On Course Bookmakers from across the country will be nominating their LAY of the week.

Get the latest LAY nominations for Saturday 1st April below.

JONATHAN WALSH (VIC)

Bendigo – Race 7 #1 Burning Front

Walsh Says: “Surely, the handicapper or bad luck has to end this winning streak. Carries the top weight today on a track that should play evenly. With some pace on upfront hopefully the 60.5kg is telling. He’s cost me a fortune over the journey so I’m hoping to get something back my way Saturday”

RAY SWANNIE (VIC)

Bendigo – Race 7 #1 Burning Front

Swannie Says: “Looks to be a high-pressure race with many horses going forward. With 60.5kg, I think it will be venerable late in a race with many chances. $3.50 is rock bottom in a competitive race for a change!”

NORM OKE (VIC)

Norm Oke – Race 4 #9 Richard of Yorke

Oke Says: “Up in grade and under the odds. I have three horses in front of him on price and can’t understand how he’s as short as $2.60”

KEVIN SABER (VIC)

Bendigo – Race 4 #9 Richard of Yorke

Saber Says: “Suited by a soft lead on a wet track last start. Up in class this trip, with Snitzelwood the likely leader. Also meets Goodwill 3kg worse. A good lay at around the $3.00 mark.”

CURLY SEAL (SA)

Morphettville – Race 2 #4 Model Dragon

Seal Says: “Will get back in running and maps awkwardly from Barrier 1. Up in weight despite a slight drop in grade. Despite only a small field I’m prepared to risk her at even money.”

 PETER McCORMACK (WA)

Ascot – Race 5 #1 Man Booker

McCormack Says: “In scintillating form against similar fields in recent starts. However, the bar keeps getting higher and the price shorter. I’m willing to risk it at odds-on after two perfect rides and runs its last two starts.”

STEVE WALTERS (TAS)

Bendigo – Race 2 #5 Sacred Sham

Walters Says: “Was a little slow away last time and a repeat of that will make it difficult on a very even race. Is a backmarker so is likely to drift from $3.20 early.”

BARRY COOK (NSW)

Gosford – Race 3 #6 Diplomacia (Friday)

Cook Says: “This horse hasn’t beaten anything in two career wins to date.  I cannot see why it is in the market. Perhaps on the Shinn/Snowden combination alone? Will be laying for the maximum.”

DAVID DWYER (NSW)

Randwick – Race 7 #2 Gingernuts

Dwyer Says: “Has won its last five starts and loves the wet. However, at a price of $3.30 I am happy to lay as it meets a strong field and has been up a long time. ”
