Lay Nominations: Saturday 13th May 2017

Every week at Betfair, On Course Bookmakers from across the country will be nominating their LAY of the week.

Get the latest LAY nominations for Saturday 13th May below.

KEVIN SABER (VIC)

Caulfield – Race 4 #9 Coram

Saber Says: “Non-winner with a poor Caulfield record. Despite being down in class here, he meets a number of up and coming horses, in particular Thelburg, Dane Thunder and Our Peaky Blinders. I’ll be taking it on!”

JONATHAN WALSH (VIC)

Caulfield – Race 6 #7 Hursley

Walsh Says: “Never has a bad run but is always the bridesmade of late. Will need some luck rolling forward and should fight out the finish again. I am happy to lay him in what looks an even race.”

NORM OKE (VIC)

Caulfield – Race 7 #1 Mongolian Wolf

Oke Says: “Four weeks between runs, first time to Caulfield and carrying a huge weight. May be too good for this lot but I reckon these few queries means it is worth taking on at the short quote.”

RAY SWANNIE (VIC)

Caulfield– Race 7 #1 Mongolian Wolf

Swannie Says: “Clearly the best performed horse in this field but does give away a lot of weight to some younger horses that are on the up. At a price of around $2.50 in the early market I’m happy to take it on.”

CURLY SEAL (SA)

Morphettville – Race 6 #11 Petition

Seal Says: “Will get back in the field and meets stronger competition in this race. I’m happy to take the risk at $2.30.”

BARRY COOK (NSW)

Doomben – Race 7 #12 Russian Revolution

Cook Says: “Meets a competitive field in this race and I don’t like how this horse has fought it’s jockey at it’s last start and trial. For these reasons it’s a solid lay for me despite being a heavily backed favourite.”

PETER McCORMACK (WA)

Ascot Race 7 #4 Caipirinha

McCormack Says: “Drew the pole first up and let on it’s ear to win in effortless fashion. Meets a similar field here but has now drawn the outside gate. If she strolls to the lead, it will be the same result but if Kate Fitzgerald on Delicate Miss decides to go handlebars down and hold her out it makes for an interesting race. The River should come forward on his last run and is a serious threat. Caipriinha will be hard to beat but is too short at $1.40.”
