JOHNATHON WALSH (VIC)

Caulfield – Race 4 #4 Pariah

Walsh Says: “Pariah has come up favourite in the colts Blue Diamond Prelude. My big concern is his position on the speed map, back in the field and going the Melbourne way for the first time under race conditions. He looks very short in an open race.”

RAY SWANNIE (VIC)

Caulfield – Race 7 #4 Malaguerra

Swannie Says: “Had the perfect run last time to win at The Valley, but from a wide draw (outside Black Heart Bart), he won’t get the same run here. He’s been beaten at his last two 1400m metre attempts, which doesn’t fill me with confidence.”

NORM OKE (VIC)

Caulfield – Race 6 #1 Chautauqua

Oke Says: “Once considered the ‘world’s best sprinter’ after international glory in Hong Kong. Has been below par ever since then. Begins a new campaign here but at the price I am happy to take it on.”

KEVIN SABER (VIC)

Caulfield – Race 7 #1 Black Heart Bart

Saber Says: “Don’t think he has come up as well as last preparation. 1400m suits and he won impressively here before, but from a wide barrier in an open race I’m against him at $4.00 and wary of his stablemate Lucky Hussler.”

CURLY SEAL (SA)

Morphettville Race 4 #6 Silent Warrior

Seal Says: “Has OK Sydney form but meets a very handy field. Has placed all six starts without winning at looks a big risk at $3.00.”

PETER MCCORMACK (WA)

Pinjarra Race 4 #3 Pounamu

McCormack Says: “Has lost its bridesmaid tag winning three of its last four starts but has paid for that consistency with a spike in its ratings. Will struggle to concede a significant weight advantage to some well performed rivals.”

STEVE WALTERS (TAS)

Randwick – Race 8 #1 Hartnell (PLACE)

Walters Says: “Looks very skinny at $1.60 to run a place first up, as his record fresh is just fair. He is coming off a Melbourne Cup run and with Winx being a moral you are only betting second and third places. It looks an excellent opportunity to lay at the shorts.”

BARRY COOK (NSW)

Doomben – Race 4 #1 Ringo’s A Rockstar

Cook Says: “This running is on the quick back up from last weekend. He rises 1200m to 1600m and we don’t think he could run the 1600m down a well! Keen to let the punters on for the maximum.”

DAVID DWYER (NSW)

Randwick – Race 10 #6 Hanwritten

Dwyer Says: “Has a great record of two wins from two starts at Randwick and is in great form. Hugh Bowman will ride so it’s likely he’ll stay hard in the market. However, this is a race with four leader/on pace horses with plenty of depth. At $4.00, I am happy to risk.”
