BARRY COOK (NSW)

Randwick – Race 1 #1 Evict

Cook Says: “Has been OK in four public trials which explains its market price. Our big concern is a bottomless Randwick track rated in the heavy 10 range. Not convinced it’s bred to swim and looks a brutal day to begin his career.”

DAVID DWYER (NSW)

Randwick – Race 4 #1 Broadside

Dwyer Says: “Is the class runner of the field and loves it wet. Hit the front last start over 2400m and was run down. Top weight here and unproven at the distance on a complete bog track means he’s a risk at $2.50.”

RAY SWANNIE (VIC)

Flemington– Race 3 #2 Santa Ana Lane

Swannie Says: “Yet to win over 1000m and had two starts at Flemington and is yet to be placed. Those reasons alone make it a risk at the short odds.”

KEVIN SABER (VIC)

Flemington – Race 3 #2 Santa Ana Lane

Saber Says: “Surely to be in difficulty from barrier two with 60kg. Never raced over 1000m (dropping from four 1200m starts). Has had two starts at Flemington for zip.”

NORM OKE (VIC)

Flemington – Race 4 #1 De Little Engine

Oke Says: “This horse has cost me in both wins and has found some form. However, his last two starts have been over 2800m and 3200m so the drop back to 2500m looks a negative. ”

STEVE WALTERS (TAS)

Doomben – Race 1 #14 All Over Bosanova

Walters Says: “Yet to win at Doomben which may surprise punters given it’s on speed racing style. This looks a deep race and I’m not convinced she justifies her early quote around 3/1. ”

PETER McCORMACK (WA)

Belmont Race 3 #5 Woolibar

McCormack Says: “Very handy and consistent sprinter who posted a career best performance when winning last start. Some of his more fancied rivals were ‘missing in action’ on that occasion and he faces a tougher field here and would have to improve again to win. A 6YO with over 30 starts, I don’t think he has that degree of improvement required to win this. Very confident!”

JONATHAN WALSH (VIC)

Swan Hill (Friday) – Race 8 #8 Mr Sinatra

Walsh Says: “This horse is coming from winning an average Kilmore maiden straight to a 0-70 race. If the horse was trained by anyone else it would be double figures. Has to go in at the 5/2 quoted.”

CURLY SEAL (SA)

Morphettville – Race 6 #3 Itz Invincible

Seal Says: “Looks a race with plenty of speed which is likely to work against this runner. Is four weeks between runs dropping back in distance which concerns me for a horse around the $3.00 despite his record at the distance.”
