We require all new customers to verify the identity of their account within 14 days of registration. Until your Identity is verified you can still use the Exchange but some restrictions are in place.

As you can see, the benefits of completing your identity verification process have obvious appeal.
How to verify
There are two methods of verifying – starting with Electronic Verification.
Method 1: Electronic Verification
The first try happens behinds the scenes. When you join Betfair we automatically attempt to verify your identity electronically. Most new accounts are verified in this way, and you will receive an email to let you know that you are verified as soon as it happens. Automatic verification can take up to 24 hours, but usually happens within a few hours.
If we are unable to verify your account automatically, we may just need some more information (i.e. driver’s licence number). If we need more info, you will receive an email from Betfair and all you have to do is hit reply with the details needed, or you can give us a call (1300 238 324) and supply them over the phone. We will then re-process your details through the electronic verification tool.
Method 2: Personal Identification
If we cannot verify you electronically, we will let you know via email. The process is simple. Just follow the instructions and send us a copy (or clear photo via your smartphone) of one document below:
- Driving Licence
- National Identification Card
- Citizenship Certificate
