 LAY (WIN): (1.00am AEDT) | Race 1 | #4 Mustafawwig to win 2 units

Has an unexposed profile but hasn’t looked a sprinter to date and isn’t bred to be one. There should be enough runners with presentable chances in the opener to make him vulnerable and Saeed bin Suroor wouldn’t have the greatest record in the world with sprinters, either, so all in all he looks too short.

LAY (WIN) — (1.00am AEDT) | Race 3 | #4 Kemari to win 1 unit

Godolphin will often saddle a short-priced favourite on the turf and Kemari looks no different. He won twice as an immature 3-y-o, including at Royal Ascot, but there were a couple of blips along the way.

LAY (PLACE) — (1.00am AEDT) | Race 6 | #5 Mouheeb to win 2 units

The one to be against in this is Mouheeb who returns after a layoff with plenty of question marks surrounding the worth of his form. He won the UAE 2000 Guineas last year before finishing fifth in the UAE Derby, and those races for the classic generation tend to be poorly contested and often lead to horses struggling with inflated ratings as four-year-old’s.

The fact he reappears so late is another cause for concern and he will need to be very smart to figure up against some solid opposition.

LAY (WIN) — (1.00am AEDT) | Race 7 | #1 Real World to win 1 unit

He is odds-on so we have to try to get Real World beaten right? It’s a Group 2, but not many of these have any great right to be winning a race of this nature, Real World being an obvious exception. He thrived during the summer back in the UK, culminating in a win in France for which he shoulders a 2kg penalty. He could just be fresh enough, and most of these have had a run, which counts for enough for a small lay to be the play.

 LAY (WIN): Race 9 | #11 Patrika Gold

Won in dominant fashion on debut but the visually impressive win wasn’t backed up on the clock, now must step up to Saturday BM70 level in a very competitive race, also plenty of early speed in the race which could prove her undoing.

LAY (WIN) — R4 | #7 Kanazawa for 1 units

Has just been average in two runs since a nice debut win. Not sure if this race sets up well for him, happy to be against at the current price.

 LAY (WIN): Race 8 | #7 Canasta IN-PLAY to win 1 unit at < $4.40

We were able to successfully Lay this horse last week and I think we can get away with doing the same again here. Super consistent as his race pattern allows him to be right in the finish, however I expect the same to happen here where he will just be overan late.

LAY (WIN): Race 2 | #2 Water Into Wine for 2 units

WATER INTO WINE was a smart winner on debut over the 1200m. Has to lump an extra 4kg and steps up in grade. Should be around the mark but prepared to risk here.

With Kenyluck engaged, will have to settle for the breeze and it’s so difficult from there. Too close to Miss Conteki in the market for me.
