Happy to back FIREWORK in this open maiden. Its last start was at Wyong over 1100m on the 31st December where the gelding jumped well and the jockey was passive out of the gates and settled at the rear of the field. In a sit and sprint race it worked home super respectably to flash home for 2nd behind FLY SCOTTY FLY. In my opinion I think this will be a strong form race. FIREWORK was first up on this occasion.
Today at Wyong, it should map pretty similarly and the step up in distance suits perfectly.

Happy to have a suggested play on REASONABLE here. The mare’s last start was at Beaumont on the 19th of December over the 1350m where it jumped well and settled outside the leader. I thought it was a respectable effort to finish 2nd behind RICKYTHESTEAMBOAT who had a perfect run throughout. It beat the original leader by 5L. Today at Wyong, with the rain affected track I can see REASONABLE settling in the first 4 and with the fitness edge over it’s main rivals, it looks hard to hold out.
