EXPERT HARNESS TIPS: MENANGLE

Best Bets

Will Norman

BACK: 9. Mister Bluechip (WIN) for 2 units (Rated at $3.00)

Like the Riverina formlines here in the Waratah final. Happy to forgive the last start failure of Mister Bluechip. He has trialled very well since at Wagga where he was driven with cover and sprinted a fast last half showing he has versality.

Kaitoa finished off well in a tougher race at Menangle last week. If there is strong early tempo which looks the case he can be finishing off well.

MENANGLE PREVIEW AND TIPS | EXPERT TIPS | SATURDAY JULY 13TH 2024

1400m track with a 350m straight. No sprint lane. Horses can win from anywhere.

RACE 1 | TOP 4 SELECTIONS

8. Ardens Ace
2. Little Bliss
9. Boom
11. Boots Electric

Open race to start the night. Ardens Ace will likely be first to the pegs and then will look for cover. Not overly sure who he takes cover on with no obvious option. With the right run he looks hard to beat dropping back to 95 grade after not having much luck last week in FFA grade.

Little Bliss is racing as well as she ever has. She chased hard in a fast last quarter last week against quality opposition. She draws to get a soft trip here.

Betting Strategy

No Bet.

RACE 2 | TOP 4 SELECTIONS

3. King Tiger
6. Craftmans Charlie
9. My Ultimate Carter
10. Colby

Betting Strategy

BACK: 3. King Tiger (WIN) for 1 unit (Rated at $2.50)

King Tiger resumes here over the longer distance and looks well placed to make a winning return. He has had 1 trial leading into this where he sprinted a fast last quarter to suggest he has come back well. Will race in a forward position here and looks hard to beat.

Craftmans Charlie was a brave effort from the breeze position last start and with better luck in running is certainly a strong chance.

RACE 3 | TOP 4 SELECTIONS

3. Jay Ok
4. Petes Said So
9. Max Delight
5. Malcolms Rhythm

Looks to be a lot of chances here. A lot of horses come out of the FFA last week where less than a length separated the first 7 past the post.

Jay Ok is racing well and looks to get a nice trailing run off the speed here.

Petes Said So is in very good form and if he is able to find a forward position using less petrol early, he has to be hard to beat.

Betting Strategy

No bet.

RACE 4 | TOP 4 SELECTIONS

7. More Gooda
10. Pas De Cheval
9. Heavenly Holly
8. Dieing Art

Betting Strategy

BACK: 10. Pas De Cheval (PLACE) for 1 unit (Rated at $2.50)

More Gooda chased the smart Millwood Bliss last start where she only went down 1.9m (17m back to 3rd) in a fast mile rate. She is a fast beginner and a sit sprinter so finding the cover on the right horse might be key to her chances.

Pas De Chevel has been racing well in the fast class races in the Western region of late. She looks well placed here back to mares grade with the concession claim for the in form Ash Delosa.

RACE 5 | TOP 4 SELECTIONS

9. Mister Bluechip
10. Kaitoa
6. Starzzz Reign
2. Peter Forsberg

Betting Strategy

RACE 6 | TOP 4 SELECTIONS

10. Our Goat
5. A Lot Of Luvin
3. Our Ultimate Luka
12. Humble

Excellent final with many chances for the NSW Bred 3yo’s.

Our Goat looks very progressive and has come back well from a spell winning both starts. He had his 1st run for Peter Rixon last start where he was an effortless winner at Penrith. He possesses very good gate speed so I expect to be sent forward early and if he handles the big Menangle track, he should be hard to beat.

A Lot Of Luvin is racing very well and her effort last start when winning at Penrith was terrific. The chances don’t end there.

Betting Strategy

No Bet.

RACE 7 | TOP 4 SELECTIONS

11. Jungle Dragon
10. Sanchez
2. Miss Ravishing
5. Our Triple Major

Betting Strategy

BACK: 11. Jungle Dragon (WIN) for 1 unit (Rated at $4.50)

Happy to put Jungle Dragon on top here on at a bit of value. Like Our Goat he had a stable change before last start from Bernie Hewitt to Peter Rixon. His last run for Bernie was a terrific win at Young coming from well back before chasing hard wide on track in a fast last half around Penrith against older horses. Think he will relish the spacious Menangle track.

RACE 8 | TOP 4 SELECTIONS

9. Caligula
6. Toro Stride
8. Victree Hill
7. Sunny Gee

Betting Strategy

BACK: 9. Caligula (WIN) for 1 unit (Rated at $2.50)

Caligula made an early error last start where he galloped straight off the arm. He trotted very well for Blake Fitzpatrick, who takes back the reins tonight, in his previous 2 starts over this distance recording fast mile rates where he was narrowly defeated by the smart London To A Brick before winning by over 30 metres. If he is on his best behaviour he looks hard to beat. Toro Stride was a Group 3 winner 2 starts ago and looks the main danger.
