Generally a big open track. The expectation for today’s meeting is that the track should play fairly and runners will get an opportunity to run on. Expecting a wet track so will be slightly leaning away from the inside lanes in the straight.

ROCKBARTON ISLAND is the one I am having a shot at the stumps with in this open maiden. This gelding last start was at Taree on the 24th September over the unsuitable distance of 1312m. At Taree it was ridden quietly after jumping and settled worse then midfield. In the straight it made nice ground to finish in 4th place first up from a 24 week spell. Tomorrow at Newcastle it comes back to home track with Mitch Stapleford claiming 2.5kg and up to a distance range which looks much more suitable.

Happy to be against SUPER ZIPPI in this open 900m Dash. SUPER ZIPPI is first up from a 157 day spell with 2 lead in trials. While the trials were above par I thought against some decent city class horses the reasoning I am against is its poor first up record. The 2 first up starts SUPER ZIPPI had were 2 of the poorest ratings in its career and I think the 4 horses I mentioned above all could run nice races to get the victory.
