BACK: 6. Early Warning (WIN) for 3 units
Early warning ran on a heavy track last start and did a good job for 2.2L 3rd behind Mark Of The Man. That horse goes OK on its day. Meets a pretty ordinary bunch here and is in a good staying stable. The two starts prior ran a narrow 4th and 2nd so the horse is clearly racing well. The one to beat. Dingabledinga was wide first up and just whacked away for a pretty plain 10L 9th. The positive thing is the horse does have a great 2nd up record and can improve sharply on a track that suits his racing patterns. Might be worth throwing in the numbers. Weak race. Ostile returns from a spell with a new trainer and jumped out OK at Bendigo in readiness for this. Blinkers on fresh suggest the horse could be ready to go. Perhaps watch markets. Four Outlaws drops in grade after a decent enough first up effort when 5th. 2nd up form and track stats enthuse.

MOUNT GAMBIER PREVIEW AND TIPS | EXPERT TIPS | SUNDAY DECEMBER 22ND 2024
RAIL: True TRACK: Good 4
5. Flick Roll
9. Daisydoo
11. Miss Molokai
7. Shimshalar
Betting Strategy
Tom Dabernig is very smart at bringing over his MDN gallopers to get their wins out the way and that looks the case here with Flick Roll. Has the most race experience and a good S.P profile. Led and looked the winner last start but was just collared late. Looks hard to catch in a field like this. Daisydoo might appreciate getting away from the graveyard that is Balaklava where both career runs there have been very good. Not the greatest of luck last time out but still finished close up. Can win here. Miss Molokai was a bit slow out but mustered to share the lead but dropped out of things in the last 100m. Could be a big improver here with the blinkers going on. In astute stable. Perhaps watch for any positive betting moves. Shimshalar ran a couple of cracking racings at big prices last prep before a spell. This is probably and easier MDN that what she’s been contesting. Can show up fresh.

8. Bruzani
5. No Rumours
11. Turned Loose
Betting Strategy
BACK: 9. Brown Nose Day Girl (WIN) for 2 units
If Brown Nose Day Girl can repeat the debut run then she could go very close here. Settled back and really powered through the line for 2nd over 1200m. Will take plenty from that, enjoy the step up to 1550m and gets in well with the 3kg claim for Brooke King. Bruzani had a good run in transit last time out but only whacked away for 3rd over the 1400m trip. Gives the impression that the step up in trip will suit. Fitter for 2 runs back and could be peaking here 3rd up. No Rumours didn’t do much on debut but didn’t know too much about the caper. Slowly out and hard ridden and was only plain late. In astute yard and might have come on over the break. Trial wasnt too bad. Turned Loose has come back a nice horse this prep with two second placings. Draws wide but you can make ground from anywhere at Mount Gambier. Ready to go one better.

5. Chipson
3. Dales Rocket
10. Anrushka
2. He’s Godspeed
Betting Strategy
Chipson returns from metro level BM70 where he started favourite. Raced on speed and boxed on well for 1.4L 3rd. Drops in grade here and is very well in at the weights with the 3kg claim. 1/1 at Mount Gambier. Looks hard to beat. Dale’s Rocket was well found in the market last start and looked gone at the 600m but somehow picked the bit up again and got home for 2nd. Extra trip clearly suits now and loves racing here at Mount Gambier is a clear threat to Chipson. Anrushka was racing in really good form before a plain effort when leading and knocking up last start. Leading isn’t her go. Draws to get a sit here from gate 3 and gets in with 52kg after the claim. 1/1 at the track/distance. He’s Godspeed worked through the line really well for a close up 1.4L 5th at Kyneton in a BM70. The start prior was also close up in a BM70 at Caulfield. That is probably superior form for this. Always respect the Bowman stable when they bring them over.
6. Pinchbeck
1. Bulls On Parade
2. Load And Go
9. Cork Harbour
Betting Strategy
Pinchbeck was a good winner two back before starting favourite at Bordertown but was pretty plain. Worth forgiving here and gets back to the track where he’s 1/1 track/distance. Draws for a softer run in transit this time in. Bulls On Parade looked to have above average ability early in the career when with Michael Hickmott but never got to the levels expected. Changed hands to Stephen Theodore who has these tried horses flying. He’s a winner first up in the past. Load And Go is another resuming here and generally goes well fresh. Had a good S.P profile too. Draws well and should be ready to roll here. Cork Harbour is an old timer who tries hard. Almost won a metro race at 100/1 last start when a close up 3rd. Drops in grade and likes this trip.
3. Bull Dust
5. OfCourse IWill
8. Lichester
2. Mr Ferrari
Betting Strategy
BACK: 3. Bull Dust (WIN & PLACE) for 2 units
Bull Dust looks suited to the step up to the 1550m here after getting back and running home well over the 1476m at Penhurst. The old timer draws for a very economical run and the horse does generally race well here at Mount Gambier. Looks a good each-way play to end the day. Ofcourse I Will has been disappointing the past couple but might not have had the clearest run last time out. Forgive that and gets back to a track where the horse has won two from three attempts at. Draws for a soft run. Lichester was in the market at Warrnambool first up but did nothing. Potentially didnt handle the heavy. Gets to a better surface here and they have tinkered with gear. Can improve 2nd up. Mr Ferrari did too much work at metro level last start and knocked up accordingly. Drops back in grade here and can bounce back to previous excellent form.
