Spring: Season One

Saturday 15/09/18

Ray Swannie  (VIC) – Flemington Race 1 #7  Tiffany’s Lass

Swannie says: “Won a weak race at Moonee Valley on a leaders track. The form out of that race is poor. This is harder with more pressure up front and looks a good lay.”

Simon Beasley (VIC) – Flemington Race 2 #7 Smart Melody

Beasely says: “Impressive in Sydney however 1100 down the Flemington straight a big challenge.”

Jonathan Walsh  (VIC) – Flemington Race 2 #7 Smart Melody

Walsh says: “Happy to take on at the short quote first time up the Flemington straight as opposed to it’s last to wins at smaller tracks.”

Barry Cook  (VIC) – Flemington Race 4 #3 Brutal

Cook says: “Don’t feel like this horse has the ability most people are saying & it meets some handy hoses here happy to oppose”

Norm Oke (VIC) – Flemington Race 5 #1 Hey Doc

Oke says: “I expected more from him first up at Moonee Valley last start where he was disappointing, especially considering the grade of race and his fantastic fresh record. I am happy to take him on here with the short quote.”

Kevin Saber (VIC) –  Flemington Race 9 #15 Furrion

Saber says: “Up in class. poorly weighted. barrier 1 tricky. Good lay at 2.40.”

Curly Seal (SA) – Morphetville Race 2 #1  Fighting Harada

Seal says: “Up in weight, will get back, meeting smarter field, risking at $2.50.”

Peter McCormack  (WA) – Belmont Race 3 #2 Great Again

McCormack says: “Probably targeting the Hannans at Kalgoorlie early next month. Has put up a picket fence of four straight wins through the winter but comes off a month’s break here and may be using this race to get it fully screwed down for the Hannans. I think there are a handful of chances, most notably Get Over It who I have rated above it. 2.30 is way unders in my opinion.”

Dave Dwyer  (NSW) – Randwick Race 8 #5 Avilius

Dwyer says: “Meets it toughest field to date and will go back from gate 12 and will need gaps to open up. Can win but will need luck .Happy to lay at $2.50.”

Saturday 8/09/18

David Dwyer (NSW) – Rosehill Race 5 #1 Trapeze Artist

Dwyer says: “First up over 1300m in a classy field on a slow track and giving weight to every horse. This race is not its grand final so happy to oppose at $3.00 here.”

Jonathan Walsh  (VIC) – Moonee Valley Race 4 #2 Trap For Fools

Walsh says: “Had everything is his favour last start and looks as though he’s short enough Saturday. Up in weight and drawn past the middle the current price looks unders. With a few of Lloyds in and Yogi swooping late he’ll be going in.”

Barry Cook (NSW) – Doomben Race 9 #4 Looks Like Elvis

Cook says: “Racing well this preparation but worried he might be over the top now 6th up on the seven day back up in a competitive field.”

Peter McCormack (WA) – Belmont Race 6 #4 Bold Success

McCormack says: “Has been a great bookies horse winning only one from thirteen attempts, starting favourite on most occasions. Let’s hope the gravy train rolls on!”

Curly Seal (SA) – Morphettville Race 2 #6 Golden Halo.

Seal says: “Melbourne form ok, but meeting smarter stronger field here, risking at $2.30.”

Ray Swannie (VIC) – Moonee Valley Race 7 #2 Osborne Bulls

Seal says: “This looks harder than last start but getting back on the inside at Moonee Valley not ideal. Will need plenty of luck just to get out let alone win.”

Norm Oke (VIC) – Moonee Valley Race 8 #7 Night’s Watch

Oke says: “Keen to find out how good he is at $4.00 jumping from an open handicap to Group 2 level. Not sure the seven day backup will suit either.”

Kevin Saber (VIC) –  Moonee Valley Race 5 #2 Nature Strip

Saber says: “Worried about the drop back in distance and and drawing the inside on the tight Valley track.”
