Betfair State of Origin

It’s State of Origin as you’ve never seen it before. Five states. 10 professional punters. $15,000 prize pool. One winning team.

Starting Wednesday 19 August 2020 and running through until Saturday 24 October (Cox Plate day), teams from NSW, QLD, SA, VIC and WA will be allocated 10 units per week to bet with on any race from Wednesday to Saturday.

At least two of the 10 units must be allocated to Lay bets and all bets are recorded at BSP, with the state/team with the highest bank at the end of each week winning $1,000.

Come the end of the 10 weeks, the team with the highest accumulative profit over the competition’s duration is the winner of $3,000, with second place receiving $1,500 and third place winning $500.

Morphettville Race 1 — #6 Canford

BACK (WIN) — Canford for 1 unit

Morphettville Race 2 — #2 Jonquest

Every possible last start and I’m of the opinion would appreciate more ground. I have three runners ahead of him so more than happy to oppose him as the current market second elect.

LAY (WIN) — Jonquest for 2 units

Caulfield Race 5 — #9 The Closer

BACK (WIN) — The Closer for 2 unit

Gold Coast Race 9 — #1 Happy Go Plucky

BACK (WIN) — Happy Go Plucky for 1 unit

Newcastle Race 8 — #6 Chanting

Well backed resuming, unable to go with Regimental Band late. Better suited at this track and out to 1400m.

BACK (WIN) — Chanting for 3 units

Gold Coast Race 1  — #4 Aventurine

This is a clear two horse race and we think the current favourite misses the place.

LAY (WIN) — Aventurine for 2 units

Gold Coast Race 1  — #5 Better Than Best

BACK (WIN) — Better Than Best for 3 units

Gold Coast Race 1  — #1 Mishani Miss

BACK (WIN) — Mishani Miss for 2.5 units

Belmont Race 7  — #8 Cliffs Of Comfort

Tough on pacer who was completely unsuited last start when dropping back in trip and getting caught deep on a genuine tempo. The step back up to 1200m is key and he maps to land in front and dictate proceedings. He has a ratings edge on this field and if he can get a cheap sectional they will struggle to catch him.

BACK (WIN) — Cliffs Of Comfort for 4 units

Caulfield Race 6 — #2 Aidensfield

Clear top. MOZZIE MONSTER is the danger but we have them in the reverse order to the market. Really nice closing run first up at the valley, the 1400m suits, the one to beat for us. MOZZIE MONSTER is a nice filly too and it’ll be a good race, they’re the two key hopes, but we’re happy to be on this one.

BACK (WIN) — Aidensfield for 2.5 units

Caulfield Race 8 — #1 Behemoth

We think he can win again, ‘the big horse’, at Matt Hill called him last start. Maps well from the good draw, should be close to the pace and all he has to do is repeat his Memsie figure to win again.

BACK (WIN) — Behemoth for 2.5 units

Caulfield Race 8 — #3 Begood Toya Mother

Winner of the race last year, and value as 2nd pick for us behind BEHEMOTH. He’s had a near identical lead-up to this, he’ll lead them up again and probably run them along and he can certainly go back to back if he can peak again like he did last year.

BACK (WIN) — Begood Toya Mother for 1 units

Belmont Race 5 — #4 Go Crying

Speculative one, this horse is off a let-up but the 1400m suits and the anticipated run-on pattern suits too, cricket score odds

BACK (WIN) — Go Crying for 0.5 units

Gold Coast Race 7 — #13 Kisukano

Laying at the price. This horse just keeps winning, however her rating LST was significantly lower than at her previous start, and there are other chances here. She is the top pick but at the current long odds on quote we are happy to oppose.

LAY (WIN) — Kisukano 2 units

Randwick Race 4 — #3 Hungry Heart

Primed for second-up run.

BACK (WIN) — Hungry Heart for 3 units.

Randwick Race 3 — #4 Think It Over

We think Opacity & Discharge can fight this one out making Think It Over a good risk

LAY (WIN) — Think It Over for 2 units.
