It has been a rollercoaster of the first four rounds of the tournament, however I am glad to be turning the corner to the business end of the tournament in good shape. Some great outright trading spots have presented themselves from the lead-up and first week, however it looks as though Ash Barty and Daniil Medvedev will both be incredibly hard to beat on current form.

Barty getting prime time has led to Nadal facing Shapovalov on a hot and humid afternoon. Shapovalov has had hardcourt success against Nadal, and on recent form and the fact this match is over the best-of-5, looks to be receiving 1 to 1.5 games more than I anticipated. Shapes up to be a great match.

This match for mine will come down to whether or not Matteo Berrettini can back up his serving performance from the previous round. Monfils is the only player in the men’s draw yet to drop a set, and benefits from the night session draw here. I think Monfils is playing too well to find himself beaten comprehensively, and Berrettini serving too well to suffer the same fate.

If you give Krejcikova time on the ball to make a decision, she can put the ball anywhere she likes on court. With Keys across the net she is unlikely to have as much of an ability to dictate, as we saw from Krejcikova against Ostapenko. This match is on the racquet of a high-confidence Keys, however nerves may feature late if she starts well. Happy to back-to-lay the American.

Betting Strategy

BACK-TO-LAY: Keys (Back 1.5 units recorded at $2.16 then set up a Lay bet (kept in-play at $1.20 to return 1.5 units)

Another night session for the in-form Barty, who, although challenged by Anisimova, still put together an impressive scoreline. Pegula was exceptional against Sakkari in the 4th round, however the conditions a little less lively tonight, coupled with Barty’s low slice, leads to a significantly tougher proposition for the American.

Betting Strategy

BACK: Barty -5.5 games (1 unit recorded at $1.90)
